Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted August 7, 2002 I finally got my DVD of the Japanese film Versus in the mail this, and I watched it tonight. Man, it rocked. It's a big long at 2 hours, but overall it's very entertaining. Without spoiling anything, the plot is about a escaped prisoner and a female kidnapee on the run from gangsters in the "Forest of Resurrection", which is full of zombies, and anyone who dies in the forest becomes one. Fortunately, these zombies know martial arts, and they can use guns. The action scene's are great, and it's pretty damn gory, with bloodletting inspired by The Evil Dead and Dead Alive. The movie is a great combination of action, martial arts and zombie/demon films. It's not widely available, but the DVD I found is great, I got it off eBay. Japan seems to be putting out some great alternative films. Along with Versus, some other great Japanese films I can recommend are Audition, Battle Royale and Ring.
