Guest One Bad Apple Posted February 24, 2002 Report Posted February 24, 2002 None of you think Hugh Morris has a chance? Hello, I'm new by the way. Wow, that's a funny one. I hope Hugh Morrus beats Kurt Angle the Raw after WM. It would probably happen on Monday, but maybe not, since Angle is in a red-hot feud. A red-hot feud with none other than Kane, a superstar who hasn't been near anything this red-hot since you-know-when. ===== KURT ANGLE: Last night at Wrestlemania, your Anglympic hero beat that big red dummy for the 1-2-3. It's true, it's true. JIM ROSS: Please, he hooked the damn tights after that rotten Funaki interfered. ANGLE: Now, I noticed everyone in the back has started to get a little reluctant to approach me, what with my Right Angle and my Kurtanglelock. As a matter of fact, I issued an open challenge ... to anyone in the back to come face me. And not one person had the guts t– [ The theme music of Hugh Morrus! It's starting! ] MICHAEL COLE: WHAT THE HELL?! ROSS: That's Hugh Morrus! He doesn't work here anymore. ANGLE: Well, well, well—if it isn't Hugh Morrus. We were in the Alliance and were good friends, but I don't like you anymore! Oh, it's true! It's damn true! HUGH MORRUS: Kurt Angle, I talked to my little girl yesterday ... my little eight-year-old girl, and she said, "Daddy, why aren't you on television anymore?" Do you know how much that broke my heart? So I told my little girl, "Don't you worry, buddy boy, daddy's gonna show up on television tomorrow and beat someone up for you." So early this morning I went to Ric Flair's office and told him, "Hey, Flair, you senile old mummy, I want to wrestle and I want to hurt people. And if you don't let me do those two things on television tonight, I just might have to be forced ... to wrestle you." (big pop!) So Flair goes, "Daddy, daddy! WHOOOOOO!!! I'll tell ya what, big man ... that took a lotta heart, a lotta guts ... to come up here ... AND TELL ME THOSE THINGS!! So, I'll tell ya what I'll do, Kurt Angle has an open contract and I want you ... to take it! I want you to take that contract, big boy!" ANGLE: Hugh Morrus, ya big fatty, you bring it on! I'll beat your BUTT, and then your little girl ... YOUR LITTLE GIRL WILL BE AT THE END OF MY OLYMPIC WIENER!! WHOOOOO!!! OH, IT'S TR– [ Hugh hits the No Laughing Matter! 1-2-3! All over! ] ROSS: HUGH MORRUS ... JUST PINNED JEFF HARDY!! AH MEAN ... CHRIS JERICHO!! HUGH MORRUS JUST PINNED JERICHO!! HOW IS THE NWO ... HOW ARE THE NWO GONNA REACT WHEN THEY SEE WHAT HAS JUST GONE DOWN HERE TONIGHT?! SMACKDOWN!! SEE YAWN SMACKDOWN!! [ The next day. ] DAVE MELTZER: by Dave Meltzer [email protected] --Kurt Angle was injured in his loss to Hugh Morrus on Raw yesterday, and the WWF expects him to be out of action from three to infinite weeks. --Keioji Tamanara defeated Big Santo Stevens at Sapporo show on Sunday, which is especially interesting considering– =====
Guest Redhawk Posted February 24, 2002 Report Posted February 24, 2002 I like Booker T and want him to get a push, but him being a 5-time WCW World Champion makes King of the Ring a little beneath him, in my view. I know WCW is dead and buried, but someone of his stature in the company should be no lower than Intercontinental title level in the WWF, and contending for the WWF title regularly. I know guys like Kane and Kurt Angle have entered the tournament after becoming mega-stars, but Kane didn't advance far enough for people to remember he was in it and Angle had the whole "repeat" thing going. KOTR also isn't a place where they'd push an "unheard of" talent, so that leaves out Mike Awesome, although I'd like to see him win. (Two "Eras of Awesomeness" in a row) My pick: Rhyno, RVD, or Christian.
Guest Who? Posted February 25, 2002 Report Posted February 25, 2002 Right now if it happened, I'd think RVD would win. But, I'm thinking by June, the WWF will give it a go with The Big Show to see if he can be a monster heel.
Guest razazteca Posted February 25, 2002 Report Posted February 25, 2002 KOTR could be one of the great PPVs, almost as good as Wrestlemaina or SummerSlam but it suffers from bad booking making it look more like a IN Your House PPV than the Main Attraction. I believe the format of a 3 round tourny would be great but the winner never gets the rub!!!!! When Edge won it, the focus of the show was on Kurt Angle vs Shane. With Shane interfering in all of Angle's matches, setting up the Angle vs Shane no rules match. Edge was just an after thought!!!!
Guest Dutha Rose Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 I juth wanted to infohm evrybody dat I rethently thent thunthin Fayd-Ex to Vinth hithelf, a fohm dat offithially announcthed my een-tent to entah da Keeng uff de Reeng tohn-a-menn, dadday! Ya hehd it heeyuh firs!
Guest the jesuit pig Posted March 2, 2002 Report Posted March 2, 2002 Rob Van Dam should win because the fans pop like mad for the Whole Fucking Show but Triple H doesn't want the comeptition. So Booker will win jsut so the WWF can piss me off.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted March 2, 2002 Report Posted March 2, 2002 While I agree about the HHH fearing RVD thing... By that point RVD should be holding the IC title...and doesn't need the KOTR to get over. They always use the KOTR to try and get someone over...RVD almost the LAST person who needs to win it. If anything he should put someone like Booker or Christian over in the finals. I thikn Christian might win it this year.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted March 2, 2002 Report Posted March 2, 2002 Christian should win, but the WWF hates him for some reason. Lance Storm is another one who could greatly benefit from a KOTR win.
Guest Tony149 Posted March 2, 2002 Report Posted March 2, 2002 I would give the KOTR to Booker T. I'm not sure if I would have Christian win.
Guest teke184 Posted March 2, 2002 Report Posted March 2, 2002 People who SHOULD be considered to be KOTR 2002: Tajiri Christian Lance Storm Mike Awesome Kidman Rhyno Benoit RVD (if it is used to signal a legitimate push) Booker T The Hurricane People the WWF will consider to be KOTR 2002: Big Show Test Albert Bradshaw X-Pac Regal Possible compromises that both sides can live with: Booker T (it would justify the contract they had to give him to take a WCW buyout) RVD (KOTR title may be given in lieu of a main event push for the time being due to the overcrowded ME scene) Albert (Frankly, the Hip-Hop Homosexual is a better choice than X-Pac, Regal, Test, or the Big Show because he doesn't really get "bad" heat and he can have passable matches if booked correctly) Scott Steiner (If signed, the KOTR title could give him immediate legitimacy to WWF fans who didn't watch WCW. Being a big guy makes the WWF happy and being a big name that's new to the WWF should make the average fan happy)
Guest Tony149 Posted March 2, 2002 Report Posted March 2, 2002 I could live with Scott Steiner winning the KOTR. I have a feeling a guy like Albert would win it.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted March 2, 2002 Report Posted March 2, 2002 If Steiner was signed...I would let him run through the tourney, destroying everyone. I think that would be a good move.
Guest Tony149 Posted March 2, 2002 Report Posted March 2, 2002 Steiner could be a monstor heel in the WWF, if they let him. Then he can wrestle HHH in a "Roid Rage" match. I like Steiner though.
Guest n/a Posted March 2, 2002 Report Posted March 2, 2002 I want to see one of the following three men win the KotR: (In order of whom I want to win) 1. Mike Awesome 2. Lance Storm 3. Kanyon ......................... Of course, Awesome & Kanyon would have to be healthy to win the KotR.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted March 2, 2002 Report Posted March 2, 2002 steiner in the wwf... hmm they might as well change their name to WCW and hire flair, hogan, nash, hall, anderson and do an nWo angle. WAIT A MINUTE..............
Guest goodhelmet Posted March 2, 2002 Report Posted March 2, 2002 "steiner in the wwf... hmm they might as well change their name to WCW and hire flair, hogan, nash, hall, anderson and do an nWo angle. WAIT A MINUTE" Exactly!!! I've been screaming for weeks to keep Steiner and his rubber leg out of the WWF. Create NEW stars. They have four guys from OVW who look like monsters and they probably wrestle a hell of alot better than Steiner does, fosho!
Guest Tony149 Posted March 2, 2002 Report Posted March 2, 2002 The WWF doesn't know how to create new stars.
Guest converge Posted March 2, 2002 Report Posted March 2, 2002 Best (realistic) choices for winning the king tourney: 1. Rhyno management is strong on him, crowd is into him, can hold his own in the ring. The win could put him over the top. 2. Test I dont want to see it, but Shanes got a hard on for him so he's always in line for the next push. There could be worse. (Show, Albert, Henry) 3. Benoit would be great to re-establish him. The WWF may feel that he "doesnt need it" like RVD.
Guest The Vanilla Midget Posted March 2, 2002 Report Posted March 2, 2002 likely choices: rhyno, christian, storm imo a guy with a great chance to win is kanyon. everyone seems to like the guy, he works well enough, talks well enough, and is not *that* old. KotR win would set him up in the IC level, and is probably what they need, as rhyno and christian *probably* dont need it, storm can probably get there by himself sooner or later, and this could be great for kanyon as he comes back from his knee injury, as many would have forgotten about him being involved in the whole alliance thing. (sorry if this has already been posted, i couldnt be bothered reading the previous pages)
Guest the jesuit pig Posted March 4, 2002 Report Posted March 4, 2002 Now that you said it Kanyon would be a good choice. Imagine how big his ego would get from even being in the second round...winning it would get him massive booing. But I don't think the WWF wants to commit on pushing him. Also I said RVD and Booker earlier but I just want to say Booker. RVD will beat Regal and won't win it if he's IC Champ. Booker will benefit from getting a push to keep his cred up sicne he won't be in the mains for awhile. Other than him it is more up in the air as to who will do what with no real standouts. Oh by the way i read more of the thread and the Hugh Morris skit is funny...but that's only really because it was dissing AngleSault. Too bad he was too busy watching Kurt Angle tapes to respond I guess.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted March 4, 2002 Report Posted March 4, 2002 Is Kanyon going to be off the injured list in time for KOTR though?
