Guest Army Eye Posted February 22, 2002 Report Posted February 22, 2002 Not unless Minotauro is taking up residence on Mars
Guest razazteca Posted February 23, 2002 Report Posted February 23, 2002 is it me or has Ken Shamrock never finish a fight without breaking or hurting his fist? his work in Pride Fc is ok minus the Fujita fight
Guest Hit Squad Posted February 24, 2002 Report Posted February 24, 2002 Shamrock is good but certainly not the best.
Guest redbaron51 Posted February 24, 2002 Report Posted February 24, 2002 He actually got me to like UFC. Though I've always liked Dan "The Beast" Severn better though
Guest Army Eye Posted February 24, 2002 Report Posted February 24, 2002 I always liked Severn more too. Especially when he suplexed the hell out of Macias. Those were so nasty. He also had a great fight where he really destroyed Taktarov, he was a bloody mess. As for Shamrock, I really have no clue how good he is right now. He was doing great vs. Fujita and then tapped out in one of the all-time head-scratcher fights. Even if he beats Frye, I couldn't in good conscience rank him ahead of any of the current top heavyweights yet, Minotauro, Coleman, Couture, Vovchanchyn, Herring, etc.
Guest J*ingus Posted February 24, 2002 Report Posted February 24, 2002 Against Fujita, did it look to anyone else that when Shamrock had him in the guillotine choke, he just let him go, for no discernable reason? I mean, Fujita's skin was already purple, turning black, and then somehow the hold is suddenly released. It didn't look like Fujita escaped from it either, just more like Ken simply let go of a good sunk-in hold. Why? Shamrock is very well-conditioned and brings the skills, but his attitude sometimes hold him back in my opinion. He's way too cautious at times, as demonstrated by his half-hour fights against Gracie and Severn.
Guest Shawn Posted March 23, 2002 Report Posted March 23, 2002 Shamrock rocked in his prime. Right now he's getting to the age where he should put up his boots. Sure I love to see him fight but take a look at him now and then compare. Shamrock got me into UFC and he kicks ass, but he's out of his prime.
Guest Cataclysm911 Posted March 24, 2002 Report Posted March 24, 2002 "Is Ken Shamrock the best fighter on the planet?" Answer: No. This isn't even a hard question.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Posted March 25, 2002 Report Posted March 25, 2002 I don't know a lot about fighting, but unless everyone else in the world is pretty poor, I'd say a big no.
