Guest Narcoleptic Jumper Report post Posted August 11, 2002 Third Eye Blind. Most people tend dismiss them as "just another alternative pop-rock band with a huge hit." These people also tend to not notice Stephan Jenkins brilliant, poetic lyrics and perfect pop hooks. Sure, "Semi-Charmed Life" was played to the point where I want to scratch my eyes out when I hear it, but the rest of their stuff is GREAT. This is true. My favorite Third Eye Blind song is actually "Slow Motion", a bone-chilling track that's probably not appreciated by ANYONE who bought the album based on the singles, and the people who would appreciate it probably wouldn't buy the album based on the singles. Ahh... to be young and in pop rock... Whatever happened to Third Eye Blind anyway? I haven't heard anything about 'em since Blue. Yes, "Slow Motion" is probably the best track Third Eye Blind has ever recorded. They're currently on the road with the Goo Goo Dolls and putting the finishing touches on their new album, Crystal Baller which is due out in October. Can't wait. Guest Kinetic Report post Posted August 11, 2002 Spoon. I rarely hear anything particularly laudatory being said about them, but they're pretty damn good. I'd recommend A Series of Sneaks to anyone.

Guest The Man in Blak Report post Posted August 11, 2002 Well, most of my choices have already been mentioned (Soundgarden, Sparklehorse, Mike Patton/Faith No More, Motorhead, Melvins)...but I really think that White Zombie and Failure are criminally underrated as well. As far as Pearl Jam and the patron saints of internet music fandom, Velvet Underground, go...I think you guys are thinking of the wrong thread.
