UFO LEGEND/DISASTER RESULTS

From Stuart's site www.puroresufan.com/njpw:

In Tokyo, a major disaster took place called UFO "LEGEND". The company's street team were handing out free tickets this morning, yet they still managed to draw an utterly disasterous crowd of just 28,648 fans, one of, if not the lowest attendance ever for combat sports in the building. The Nippon TV live feed began with Sakata vs. Sperry, meaning it didn't catch the debacle of Joannie "Chyna" Laurer beating U.S. Golden Gloves (Female) Boxing Champion, Chika Nakamura. The match was said to be terrible, with the fans outright booing after Laurer threw some soft mounted punches for the referee stop. In some promising news that is hopefully not misinterpreted, when asked when she would return to Japan, Laurer said the 10/14 Tokyo Dome show, which contradicts her informal bookings on the "G1 WORLD" series in September. Kazunari Murakami returned to Japan, and despite losing to Wallid Ismael, had his name called. Nogueira beat Kikuta so bad that Kikuta had to be stretchered out, as he could not stand up. Fujita made short work of a "clueless" Tadao Yasuda, who was totally dominated and quickly put to sleep. Yasuda was outcold and twitched after the match. The main event received great heat from the Japanese fans, but was described also as being very fake, with Naoya Ogawa defeating Olympic silver medalist, Matt Ghaffari. Ogawa bloodied Ghaffari with a punch to the face, and Ghaffari literally turned his back so that Ogawa could jump on him for the TKO/referee stop finish. Inoki was visually disgusted at something. Ogawa challenged Rickson Gracie, who was in attendance, to their much teased match, which could happen at a later UFO show. NTV wanted a 15.0 average rating for the show, will be interesting to see how it compared given the incredibly bad attendance.

Sounds like a steaming pile of shit to me. And to think I was actually considering getting a copy of this when it became available. Silly DA.
