What was the better season

Recommended Posts

Guest Youth N Asia

I finally got through with Angel season 3...and in my opinion I thought it killed Buffy...

Granted, Buffy had a strong finish, but the season seemed to drag. Angel was strong from the get go and got better and better.

Buffy was still good, and they left the door open for a lot, so maybe next year will be better.

The main problem with Angel was that the character interactions weren't great...I don't know what happend, but when season 3 came around all the characters seemed to mesh perfect.

Although I'm bummer Larren and Gru don't look like they'll be around for 4

I've argued this point with countless Buffy fanatics.

Angel 3 SMOKED Buffy 6.

It's not even close.

Buffy was BLAH for the majority of the season. (And the musical episode sucked) It only picked up at the end, but even then, I didn't think it was anything super special. Not as good as previous seasons.

But Angel was the best this season it has ever been, and it kept getting better. MUCH better than Buffy season 6. This was Angel's year.

I stopped watching Angel season 3 when he had he kid.

I thought very highly of Buffy season 6, however.

In fact...I thought the ending of the season wasn't all that great, compared to the rest of it.

Buffy had a great dirty feel to it this year...with so many problems that just made the show feel more...real

Brotha...you missed some killer tv...the season just seemed to get better and better as it went on. Lot of emotion in the final episodes

Buffy just didn't seem to fall into a good flow...they just kept going back to the Supervillans and Spike...then they'd throw in Double Meat and Riley out of nowhere.

Strong finish...but maybe my least favorite season of Buffy ever...the Musical and the final saved it though

Spoken like someone who doesn't know the first thing about what they are talking about.

I put the end of season 2 buffy against any show on TV in terms of emotional impact.

I thought Angel was amazing until Connor came back as some "badass" teen. That was horrible and pretty much wrecked the season for me. Up until Connor's kidnapping it was really good though, overall better than Buffy.

At the same time as Angel got bad, Buffy just seemed to pull itself together. The ending was great, and really seemed to build for next season. What happened to Spike seems super duper lame, but I'll reserve my judgement until we see what they do with it. Buffy had some great eps through the season though...the Musical was just awesome, and the one where they all forgot who they were was quite funny IMO (was that Tabula Rasa?).

In the end, Angel may have been the better season overall, but it just left such a bad taste in my mouth that I pick Buffy over it.

Angel by a country mile. The way everything inter-connected and the personal growth in each episode, and the way they introduced one lil point in one episode and then like 6 episodes later it became a main focus. Fantastic. My only problem is that they totally killed off quirky fred and bimbo cordy.

Yeah, it was Tabula Rasa. Great episode. I absolutely loved Giles and Spike in that.

I will agree in that while Angel was the better season overall, I just didn't care for how it ended and all. I thought Buffy finished a lot stronger, so that impacted my view of the whole season quite a bit.

Much like you're reserving judgement on the Spike plotline, I'm going to hold my judgement on the Connor situation until I see where they go with it next year.

If suddenly after a few weeks Connor becomes a goody-good guy, and joins the rest of the gang, I'm going to be VERY pissed. I can take him in small doses, though.

"Buffy" had a lot of shark jumpings this season. Dawn and Marti Noxon's writing didn't help much either.
