Mike Weinberg (the WB Network's THE LONE RANGER) will play Kevin McCallister, the role that made Macaulay Culkin a star 12 years ago. Kevin's parents (Beghe and Clare Carey) have split up, and he lives with his mom. He goes to spend Christmas with his dad at the mansion of his father's rich girlfriend, Natalie (Joanna Going), in a Chicago suburb. Babcock will play the estate's housekeeper. Stewart will take over the role of robber Marv Merchants, played in the first two 20th Century Fox movies by Daniel Stern. This time, he partners with fellow criminal Vera (Pyle) to hit Natalie's mansion. The script for HOME ALONE 4 was written by Debra Frank and Steve L. Hayes (ABC's SANTA WHO?). Rod Daniel (Fox's HOW TO MARRY A BILLIONAIRE, A CHRISTMAS TALE) will direct the film, which is set to begin production Monday in wintery Cape Town, South Africa. Stewart, best known for his role as the oddball communications officer Harry Solomon on NBC's 3RD ROCK FROM THE SUN, next stars as the title character in the Walt Disney Co.'s direct-to-video sequel INSPECTOR GADGET. Remember in the The Critic when Jay was talking about Home Alone 5 and next we get a shot of the mom say "Oh my God we left Kevin all alone and he's only 25." And then with a shot of Kevin with a beard, smoking and doing his scream. Well I have a feeling we could be seeing something like that very soon.

Guest Redhawk Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 Was there ever any connection made between Home Alone 3 and the first two movies? Was that kid Kevin's cousin or something? That'd be kind of hard to explain years from now, that the 3rd movie of a 4-part series was about some random kid. That's be like Rocky 3 being about some other boxer who had no connection to Balboa or Apollo Creed, and then Rocky 4 coming out as if nothing happened. Anyway, Kevin was supposed to be like, what, 10 in Home Alone 2? That was made in 1992, so in Home Alone 4 he'd be 20 years old! I'm 20 and I get left Home Alone all the time when I'm not in school. So there wouldn't even be the "Oh, what a clever little kid" factor. Okay, wait a minute...after looking at imdb.com, I've leaned that Mike Weinberg is only 9 years old. I thought he was an adult. Now I'm mad. They better not make a movie 10 years after the last one and the kid hasn't aged a bit.

Guest cynicalprofit Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 NO they werent classics, they were really bad and made alot of money and when that happens, hollywood cranks out sequels to squeeze as much money out of it as possible. See Planet of the Apes, Austin Powers, and yes, Star Wars(even if george wrote them before, they are only still being put out casuse each one does huge numbers). The first HA was funny cause it was new and different, even if Culkin makes me want to shove forks in my ears and use razors on my eyes, the sight gags were pretty nice. The second movie was just a reason to have the parents thrown in jail for child abuse. And subsequent movies further that thought, i mean, ok you forget the kid once, it can happen, but after that, its negilance. The end of 2 should have been the parents being put in jail.
