Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted August 9, 2002 Being fairly new to joshi, I've recently been checking out some Akira Hokuto stuff, and just heard something about her breaking her neck in a match in April of 87. what's the story with this? Guest Jubuki Report post Posted August 9, 2002 Her injuries didn't seem to start taking a toll until after she blew out her knee in '93 - hard to be 'drastically better' when A) she'd only been a pro 2 years and B) we're talking about one of the 2 or 3 best women to ever lace up a pair of boots. Before that, she was peaking in 92-93, her 7th and 8th years as a pro, which is normal, although she was good/very good in virtually everything I've seen of her from earlier periods (as far back as the Marine Wolves/Crush match in 88). She was the rare case of someone who didn't fall behind in terms of skill or in terms of push because of a serious accident of this nature (other injuries curtailed her WWWA Title path).
