The result? It was exactly what I expected. Diesel rocked, the action was great, the story was simple and the dialogue was cheesy and cliched. Dialogue examples: "Welcome to the Xander Zone!" and "Find him fast! Kill him slow!". Oh yeah, and I loved it. B-movie goodness.

Before you slap me in the face and say "wake up"--there has not been a better edited action film in years. And this is truly a film about action--not just explosions and guns, but actual action: movement, progress, and so on. A philosophy of no bullshit, just...do it. A great character who was totally believable in every scene...I dunno. I was taken aback and spent a good 30 minutes in the theater parking lot discussing the film with some amazed friends, as we all realized that we had really just seen a genuinely 'new breed' of action movie, as advertised. It's modern, unique, and thank god an evolution away from the "I'm Arnold, I shoot things" action mode. In my eyes it's as major and evolved and action film as Die Hard was for its time...and that's saying a lot. Totally recommended, and even though you might think it's some shit B-movie, think about what you just saw and realize that an action movie with believable characters, post-modern philosophy, and ridiculously thrilling scenes is pretty frickin' rare these days. Also, I will forever love Vin Diesel for his work on The Iron Giant. Kick-ass.

This is the first action movie in a long while (discounting Reign of Fire, since it was a different kind of action movie) that had really fun, exciting, entertaining action sequences. From the previews, I thought this was going to absolutely suck. "A spy movie with SNOWBOARDING? Come on!" Turns out, the snowboarding scene was quite possibly the best scene of the whole movie - that avalanche is really a sight to see. I think it helped that the theatre apparently had the volume on 11 - more often than not, explosions shook the seats and made you go temporarily deaf. I still hate Vin Diesel... but I highly recommend this movie.

He delivered the cheesy dialogue really well, and looked convincing when the scene was kinda stupid (like doing the Superman and shooting the guard).

Lots of love for Ahhhnold who has a very small amount of charisma and has zero ability as an actor. Mainly hate for Vin who is oozing with charisma has some ability as an actor. We won't find out how good or bad he is until he gets a meatier role with something decent to work with, but he has shown some ability. I don't know why but that just doesn't make sense at all. Now i have nothing against Ahhhnold so don't take this as me ripping on him. In fact i accept his movies for what they are meant to be.

Yeah, she's quite easy on the eyes. I didn't think much of her performance in XXX, but she was always easy to look at, so I'm willing to forgive the rest. I thought the movie was enjoyable for what it was, but it was no great shakes overall. Here's my TSM review of it for those who are curious.

I still am not high on Vin Diesel, but the movie worked with his one or two good qualities and let the supporting cast run away with the movie. Asia Argento....whooo, and Sam Jackson NEVER dissapoints.

The 1st time and 2nd time I had to pay for it. This hot girl paid for me the 3rd time . My friend paid for the 4th time And the 5th time I got in for free cus I got a free movie pass.
