Cincinnati is leading San Diego, 10-6 in the top of the 5th. Aaron Boone has hit 3 home runs, and should have at least 2 shots at number 4 before the night is out.

Just another reminder that the Cardinals are likely to be remembered for one of the biggest second-half meltdowns of the last couple of years (though the circumstances are anything but conventional).

I'd wait a while before calling it a meltdown. At least til after Woody Williams comes back.

I understand that it's a little early, but I think it's fairly easy to see that this isn't the same team that was barreling through the ranks before DK passed on. Hopefully, they can pull out of it, but with the Reds gaining steam and the other dominant teams (D'Backs, Braves) remaining firmly at the top, it's beginning to look as though the Cardinals are the odd team out.

The one thing in the reds favor over the weekend is that the stros face hotlanta and thats a chance to pick up three games while the stros drops three games. I think that the reds dont' have the team to win the central let alone the wild card as the bullpen is a joke and there's no true closer for them. But they'll keep it interesting and put up a fight

Fucking Billy Wagner blows a 3 run lead. That would of put the Astros within 1 game of first place.

The Central is the race to see who loses to Arizona in the 1st round.

Teams tend to struggle after making a big trade. Especially when you trade players on your own roster. Polanco was supposed to respected by the other Latino players.

Man...I was AT last Night's Game!

and How can you say are Bullpen is a Joke? It's one of the top in Game...it's our Starters save for Dessens and Hayes.

Anyways...fun night in Cincy.

Being up 9 - 1 and then winning 12 - 10 doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. I'm going tonight, hopefully we'll get another win.

i'm not saying the reds have no bullpen but when you look at atlanta, the giants, the cards, the yanks, the m's the reds have a mild bullpen

overall they don't have the team to win the central

i have the cards winning by 3 games over houston

5 1/2 over cinncy

The reds are a hit and miss team they blow games they should win. Yes had griffey junior been healthy all year long maybe things would be different. The fact is dempsters nothing and they couldn't land kenny rogers but they should've been looking for more quality pitching. That is whats killing them and poor defense

Can't forget about the Twins bullpen. Which next to Atlanta has been the best in the majors.

Hopefully either Houston or Cincinnati wins. The Mets the Cardnials are my least favorite teams in the league. Made only worse by that jerk and postseason choker Tony LaRussa being the manager.

There's no way you can forget the twinkies. They have had a great season and you can't argue that. The stros have a good starting staff and when wagner is on his game he's one of the best but st louis is just too loaded offensively and add chuck finley to a good pitching staff the central is for the cards to lose

and for the wildcard i really think we're going to see L.A. or san francisco walk away with the wildcard having two teams from the west

St.Louis is loaded offensively but this year Rolen, Martinez, Drew have not hit well for them. Vina is overrated for a lead-off hitter...a .340 OB isn't very good. Jim Edmonds is terrible with runners in score position. The lineup potentially is good, but they haven't really all played like they're capable of playing.

and its a sweep!!!!!!!

Even a hour rain delay couldn't force me out of beautiful cinergy field.

Forget rolen because boone is the new king of cincy. By the way, screw all those extra innings callers who called for Aarons head earlier this year and screw Tracy Jones the biggest prick ever.

I'm glad he's one of the hottest players in baseball right now. But let's face it if Daddy wasn't the coach there's no way he would've been in the lineup as much as he was while he was hitting around .200. He played almost the first 70 games of the season before getting an off day. By far the most, and at the time he was one of the worst offensive hitters on the team.

Now what Bob Boone needs to do is get rid of Juan Castro. I don't care how good you are in the field, when you are batting .114 you are a liability. If they were taking Larkin out they should have moved Boone to SS and put Larson in at 3rd. It's a shame when Juan Castro gets more PT then Brandon Larson, who has been producing whenever he has gotten consistent PT.
