Hulk Still Rules DVD

Recommended Posts

Guest Slapnuts00

Did you guys see Scott Keith's latest mail feedback column? He lists the extras for the upcoming Hulk Hogan DVD:

"Hogan's MSG debut in 1979

v. Andre the Giant in Shea Stadium, 1980, which apparently happened according to the newly revised, revised WWE history. For most of the 90s that match was erased from history.

Hogan returns from the AWA in 1983

Hogan trains Mean Gene on TNT.

v. Paul Orndorff from Toronto at the Big Event in 1986.

v. Andre the Giant at Wrestlemania III

A skit with Vince & Lord Alfred on TNT

Hogan & Beefcake v. Zeus & Savage from Summerslam 89.

An appearance on "All Star Wrestling" in 1982.

v. Ric Flair, Bash at the Beach '94.

"Classic Hogan" from TNT.

An interview with Mean Gene, leading up to ...

Hogan & Mean Gene v. George Steele & Mr. Fuji. Yes, they actually put this on a DVD.

v. Undertaker, from This Tuesday in Texas.

v. John Studd in Puerto Rico in a rainstorm.

v. Nikolai Volkoff on SNME in a flag match.

v. Mr. Perfect, from SNME in 1990.

Hogan & Andre v. Bundy & Studd from SNME

v. Roddy Piper, from the Wrestling Classic.

The entire Royal Rumble in 1990.

Hogan/Savage and friends v. Team Heenan at Survivor Series 88

v. Harley Race on SNME (Race's career-ending match)

v. The Genius on SNME (another famous one)

v. The Big Bossman on SNME (ANOTHER famous one, and one of Hogan's best matches)

v. Honky Tonk Man on SNME (only meeting between them on TV, from 1989)

The Rock cardboard cutout promo from Smackdown earlier this year.

In a word, holy CRAP. That's just the extras -- there's another two hours of stuff on the actual program, too."

I'll do him one better, holy SHIT! I mean, I'm not even a big Hogan fan but this looks like the best DVD package the WWF has out out yet! Some of those matches on there are rare matches that would be the only ones from their show that I'd want to have...and it's all here in DVD quality. This Tuesday In Texas! The whole 1990 Royal Rumble! SNM Matches! Mean Gene Wrestling....ehem. I'm suprised they didn't put a few more WCW matches on there, but this is just fine! Plus there's a 2 hour main feature, which I'm sure should include some WCW stuff. Anyway, I went from not caring too much to greatly aticipating this LOADED DVD, of Orange Goblin Goodness.

Im hyped for this DVD. Could have put on some more WCW stuff. Any word on what the main program contains.

Why cant they do more DVDs like this?

This basicly means they are only making one Hulkster DVD. Unlike Rock and HHH and Austin...they didn't save anything...they threw EVERYTHING at it.

WoW I told myself I would probably never buy anything that concentrates on the orange goblin, but damn WWE! Why dont (didnt) they do something like this for other superstars. I cant wait for this DVD! And its a HOGAN DVD!!

Seriously, this is probably the best looking DVD on paper that WWE has ever thrown together. I just got the What? DVD and that was pretty fuckin cool, I haven't got the HHH one yet, but in terms of extras alone this looks insane.

August 20th.

Sweet...

thanks man

Yeah looks dope man. I'm hoping it doesn't get delayed like the nWo one was up here in Canada. I mean those extras look just unreal and will hopefully be the standard for all best of DVD's and makes me question why they couldn't have done that for the nWo one. I would have rather had Warrir/Hogan and Hogan/The Rock instead of Hogan & Mean Gene v. George Steele & Mr. Fuji and the Big Jogn Studd rainstorm match but hey can't complain too much about those extras.

I wish they had Hogan vs. Shiek. I have never seen the match other than just clips of the ending, and it would be a great thing to have on the tape.

The only reason they are stacking this DVD is because they won't be making another. So the next 'big' dvd will be when someone else is near retirement... So we won't be seeing Takers till about 2012.

Damn, just damn. With my being one of the biggest Hogan marks that has ever lived, this is like unreal for me. If this is just the EXTRA'S, then what in the hell is on the DVD in the first place? I mean, seriously, I'd pay the $$$ just for what I see listed as the extra's! :o :o :o

Don't rush to the store right away on the 20th...cause WWE Discs have a track record of being delayed up here. I still haven't seen the HHH disc out yet.

By the way, Judgement Day is a good price at 15.99 at Future Shop. Not bad for a supposed Shopzone Exclusive.

its like 18 bucks on Amazon.com..

Im considering buying it now (I wasn't when I first heard about it), although the fact that they only have 1 WCW match angers me slightly.

My only thought now is, could they pull off a Ric Flair DVD since most of his matches were WCW/NWA and not WWF like Hogan's...

v. Mr. Perfect, from SNME in 1990.

Is this the match where Perfect & Genius smash the title belt? Or was it v. The Genius on SNME? I can't remember who his opponent was for that match...

It's not hard to find from a tape trader, but it's hardly worth bothering. The entire match is five minutes long, and strictly follows the standard Hogan Formula.

It was the Genius's match were Perfect smashes the belt on the ground with a hammer. The Genius won that match by countout.

DAMN. This thing looks awesome. I wish they'd gotten some of his stuff from 88-89 with Savage, but other than that, I can't wait to pick this one up.
