Guest MrRant Report post Posted August 10, 2002 There are some good puro reviews on my siteSmarkTalk.com so if you haven't check it out do so because I plan to hopefully have a very large database of puro reviews so that way it can appeal to both Puro fans as well as fans of American wrestling. And besides.. lots of people who post here are doing some of the reviews so check it out. Pretty please? Opinions on the site are welcome as well.

Guest wolverine Report post Posted August 11, 2002 Only thing I'll say is that Misawa vs. Akiyama 2/27/00 most certainly wasn't the best match of 2000. An excellent, **** match, but not close to the Zenjo cage match from 11/23/00 for storyline and drama.

An excellent, **** match, but not close to the Zenjo cage match from 11/23/00 for storyline and drama. To be fair, i did say "This may well have been the best match of 2000" . As i wasn't sure. I haven't seen the Zenjo cage match, for instance. Oddly enough, when i first watched Akiyama/Misawa i only thought it was about 4*, but after re-watching it my opinion changed. When was the last time you watched it, just out of curiosity?
Guest Jubuki Report post Posted August 11, 2002 The first time I watched it, I thought it was mine too. Each time I've seen it, I've thought that again. I don't really know if there's that much distance between it, the 11/23 cage, Sano/Tanaka 1/30, and the 12/14 NJ tag. Maybe the NJ tag falls a little behind, with Fuchi & Iizuka doing nothing very well. But, the Zenjo cage went ahead of the others for me, despite its clusterfuckery, because it was a better bridge for past and present stories. The other matches treaded little new ground. Maybe Misawa/Akiyama did for Akiyama's win, but it wasn't a prevalent idea.
Guest wolverine Report post Posted August 11, 2002 I'll have to say that the cage match was the only one in which I had any kind of emotion while watching it, which plays a big part. I don't think the work was the best of the year, but as a whole, it wins. Haven't watched Sano-Tanaka or 12/14 in forever, but I do remember not being all that impressed. Although the work was excellent, Misawa/Akiyama felt like a 'been there, done that' type of thing, with the cage being the only fresh thing in my view. Guest wolverine Report post Posted August 11, 2002 Okay, I rewatched Misawa-Akiyama, and it was even less impressive this time. Actually, it was more of a chore than anything. 2000 Misawa does nothing of significance, and Akiyama was just flat out boring. No wonder I'm not a fan of this stuff after 1997. Guest PlatypusFool Report post Posted August 11, 2002 I've looked at your site before Mr. Rant, and although it's quite decent, I was too confused by it to bother having a proper look around Sorry!
Guest Jubuki Report post Posted August 11, 2002 From an aesthetic point of view, I found it too busy. Too many different colors, too many boxes and icons and things without enough of them being clear and well-contrasted against their surroundings & background. Also seems you've got it set, on purpose or otherwise, for 1024x768 resolutions, which could be a poor assessment of your potential reader base. Another good tip is to have as little as possible on the front page that requires scrolling, as a vast majority of page visitors never scroll when they first come to a site. That's as far as I really felt like going, though.
Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted August 11, 2002 What I think would be best is if you set up an index of reviews. I click on puroresu reviews and I get a little preview of each review that has been done. You should set it up so the link takes the viewer to an index, just showing the name of the reiview and maybe who wrote it.
Guest MrRant Report post Posted August 11, 2002 Try clicking on the Logo for say... NJPW and you will get an index of it. As far as the resolution thing it appears ok for me at 800x600 and there doesn't seem to be any probs for me at least. I could make a link to each particular topic (ie NJPW or WWE Tape Reviews) but the catergory thing you clicked on shows every Puro review on the site. Guest MrRant Report post Posted August 12, 2002 Check out the site now and there is a block that says "Tape Reviews" at the top right hand corner. Try that out and tell me how it works out for you.
