Tuck Everlasting... The Movie~!

Sorry, I might be the only one excited by this at all, but... as I was at the movies (saw the Martin movie which was WAY better than I expected), I saw a poster for a Tuck Everlasting movie!

 

I loved the book (don't know why), and I never really thought of them making a movie about it.

 

So... um... discuss. And stuff.

I remember reading that book in grade 6, but not much about it, otherwise. I don't even remember the plot outside of the Tucks drinking something that makes them all live forever.

I would have to say 2 things.

 

#1 I have no idea what the book is about so I cannot say that I honestly care that this movie is being made.

It'll just give them a reason not to read the book. It wasn't even the best book I read that year for school. That honour goes to "Bridge to Terebithia (sp?)".

That year (we read it in 6th grade also), it was. It isn't a great book or anything, but I at least think it's a good book and such.

 

I just never really thought of them making a movie about it, and now since they are (or have for that matter), I was kinda excited about it.

The best book I ever read in school was 1984.

 

There are 2 movie versions, and the newest one which came out (ironically enough) in 1984 has nudity in it and our teacher (this is like 10th grade) didnt know it.

 

Needless to say she screamed "shut your eyes! shut your eyes" as she ran to the VCR to fast forward it..

i'm excited, cause i loved the book as a kid & haven't even thought about it in years, but making a movie out of it is like playing with fire. it would be as if someone were to try to make a big budget movie of the chronicles of narnia. it BETTER fucking be good, or else.

'raging bull' outdid the book. of course...'raging bull' had martin scorsese, robert de niro & paul schrader working on all cylinders, while 'tuck everlasting' has...well, no one worth noting.

Actually, LotR came pretty damn close to the book for a movie based on one, imo.
