Guest MrRant Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 These are the type of bands that if someone walked into the room you would immediately turn the station or change CD's. Mine would be the Bee Gee's, Def Leppard and Quiet Riot. I feel dirty but I love Saturday Night Fever. What are yours?
Guest Still Fly Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 John Mayer... I'm supposed to be into rap, LMAO... And ::gulps:: O-Town?
Guest Nevermortal Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 Slipknot, Enya, and to a lesser extent... Korn.
Guest Incandenza Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 I don't have any guilty pleasures in music. I defended my appreciation of Andrew W.K. without shame in my second column. Check the link in the sig for proof.
Guest Will Scarlet Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 I usually hate Limp Bizkit, but I find some of their songs to be guilty pleasures, though my biggest one will have to be Ricky Martin. I guess I just like upbeat music. A lot of the Japanese and Korean stuff I listen to could also be considered guilty pleasures because I would never listen to that without headphones. People think I am weird enough as it is.
Guest Kinetic Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 It brings me a lot of shame to like classic rock radio as much as I do.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 I get made fun of for being a burly metalhead with a fascination for Rush quite often. Lines like "There is unrest in the forest, there is trouble with the trees." don't really fit too well with most of Suffocation and Lividity's work. Other than that, I'm a closet Talking Heads fan. Visualize this CD Rack...Morbid Angel, Suffocation, Acid Bath, Slayer, Internal Bleeding, Converge, RUSH, Talking Heads, and Mastodon... gotta sneak that "Moving Pictures" CD in there somehow...
Guest saturnmark4life Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 ah yes, i often have to defend my love andrew wk against all comers but like the man Incandanza i'm not ashamed at all. I like a few mudvayne songs, i should probably be ashamed of that. Ah well.
Guest dilk bathoon Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 avril lavigne is like a drug. and i'm ashamed. morcheeba is like trippy hippie music that i doubt i'd play with my buddies around.
Guest bob_barron Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 I love Faith Hill and am a big Garth Brooks fan
Guest dilk bathoon Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 and its hard to hate sheryl crow too.
Guest La Parka Es Mi Papa Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 I'm a huge hairband fan, although I'm not exactly ashamed of it.
Guest LJSexay Posted August 13, 2002 Report Posted August 13, 2002 Cold. I love them, but....people always say WHO??! when I mention them. But they rule.
Guest Mad the Swine Posted August 13, 2002 Report Posted August 13, 2002 Thompson Twins and George Jones I hate just about everything else from country music, but I somehow like George Jones.
Guest The Man in Blak Posted August 13, 2002 Report Posted August 13, 2002 For some crazy reason, I really dig the B-52s. Same goes for INXS and Robert Palmer...what is it with this crazy 80's pop/rock? As far as the 90's go...I'm a huge fan of Stone Temple Pilots, who are one of the most shat-upon bands in the decade's history. Oh, yeah - and Three Dog Night. It's just an old-fashioned love song, MOTHAFUCKER~!
Guest El Satanico Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 I like good 80's pop alot for some reason. I don't like all 80's pop because there's a bad side and a good side to 80's pop. Did i say 80's pop enough there... I really only have one guilty pleasure that i'd go out of my way to stop playing it if someone walked in. Skrewdriver "Skinhead" If the reason why i stop this song if someone walks in isn't obvious to you it's a song about skinheads. I'm not into that type of shit AT ALL so don't crucify me. I heard the song in the movie "Romper Stomper" and liked it so i downloaded it. I shouldn't like the song because of the subject matter, but it's a catchy song and i just can't help liking it.
Guest gthureson Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 Sigue Sigue Sputnik Can't explain it.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 Mandy Moore and Michelle Branch...starting to like newer chick rock/pop
Guest Slingshot Suplex Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 Melissa Etheridge...her first two albums especially. And the Go-Go's
Guest Strike Force! Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 I get made fun of for being a burly metalhead with a fascination for Rush quite often. You get made fun of for liking Rush? Don't worry. You have good taste.

It's funny you should mention Skrewdriver, b/c I'm in the same boat in that I like the music but not the message. I'm NOT racist (former SHARP, actually) and in fact am half Jewish, but have always liked OI music, and feel that musically "hail the new dawn" is a good album. I just try to not listen to the lyrics.
Guest NoCalMike Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 I am a Metal-Head through and through, Everyone that knows me, knows that, but I just can't enough of the 80's brit/pop
Guest swan Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 I'm metal all the way but I do have the following bands and singers in my collection: Neil Diamond Willie Nelson Barry Manalow Mazzy Star Fleetwood Mac Kansas Night Ranger Just picture those in a CD rack along with Kiss, Slayer, Anthrax, Metallica, Anal Cunt, Edge of Sanity, and the Misfits among others.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 I'm metal all the way but I do have the following bands and singers in my collection: Neil Diamond Willie Nelson Barry Manalow Mazzy Star Fleetwood Mac Kansas Night Ranger Just picture those in a CD rack along with Kiss, Slayer, Anthrax, Metallica, Anal Cunt, Edge of Sanity, and the Misfits among others. If anything, Anal Cunt is the band that sticks out of that rack. That poor CD has strayed from the pack, it needs to cuddle with Cryptopsy and graze the green pastures with Internal Bleeding and Nile. Rush is in the illustrious dozen non-metal bands I like, which is comprised of: Rush Pink Floyd Tool Talking Heads Doors Cream Frank Zappa The Who Hendrix Alice in Chains Dead Kennedys Primus and Les Claypool affiliates. (I lump them together. even though Primus and Oysterhead are quite different, they have the Les factor, which is the only reason I listen to it.)
Guest converge241 Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 all 80's hair metal / cheese metal disco
Guest KoR Fungus Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 Avril Lavigne, and DDR music. I feel like such a dork whenever I listen to my DDR playlist, hehe.
