Guest MrRant Report post Posted August 11, 2002 These are the type of bands that if someone walked into the room you would immediately turn the station or change CD's. Mine would be the Bee Gee's, Def Leppard and Quiet Riot. I feel dirty but I love Saturday Night Fever. What are yours?

Guest Incandenza Report post Posted August 11, 2002 I don't have any guilty pleasures in music. I defended my appreciation of Andrew W.K. without shame in my second column. Check the link in the sig for proof.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted August 11, 2002 The Spice Girls. ... That is all.
Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted August 11, 2002 I usually hate Limp Bizkit, but I find some of their songs to be guilty pleasures, though my biggest one will have to be Ricky Martin. I guess I just like upbeat music. A lot of the Japanese and Korean stuff I listen to could also be considered guilty pleasures because I would never listen to that without headphones. People think I am weird enough as it is.
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted August 11, 2002 It brings me a lot of shame to like classic rock radio as much as I do.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted August 11, 2002 I get made fun of for being a burly metalhead with a fascination for Rush quite often. Lines like "There is unrest in the forest, there is trouble with the trees." don't really fit too well with most of Suffocation and Lividity's work. Other than that, I'm a closet Talking Heads fan. Visualize this CD Rack...Morbid Angel, Suffocation, Acid Bath, Slayer, Internal Bleeding, Converge, RUSH, Talking Heads, and Mastodon... gotta sneak that "Moving Pictures" CD in there somehow... Guest The Man in Blak Report post Posted August 13, 2002 For some crazy reason, I really dig the B-52s. Same goes for INXS and Robert Palmer...what is it with this crazy 80's pop/rock? As far as the 90's go...I'm a huge fan of Stone Temple Pilots, who are one of the most shat-upon bands in the decade's history. Oh, yeah - and Three Dog Night. It's just an old-fashioned love song, MOTHAFUCKER~!

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 14, 2002 I like good 80's pop alot for some reason. I don't like all 80's pop because there's a bad side and a good side to 80's pop. Did i say 80's pop enough there... I really only have one guilty pleasure that i'd go out of my way to stop playing it if someone walked in. Skrewdriver "Skinhead" If the reason why i stop this song if someone walks in isn't obvious to you it's a song about skinheads. I'm not into that type of shit AT ALL so don't crucify me. I heard the song in the movie "Romper Stomper" and liked it so i downloaded it. I shouldn't like the song because of the subject matter, but it's a catchy song and i just can't help liking it. It's funny you should mention Skrewdriver, b/c I'm in the same boat in that I like the music but not the message. I'm NOT racist (former SHARP, actually) and in fact am half Jewish, but have always liked OI music, and feel that musically "hail the new dawn" is a good album. I just try to not listen to the lyrics.

If anything, Anal Cunt is the band that sticks out of that rack. That poor CD has strayed from the pack, it needs to cuddle with Cryptopsy and graze the green pastures with Internal Bleeding and Nile. Rush is in the illustrious dozen non-metal bands I like, which is comprised of: Rush Pink Floyd Tool Talking Heads Doors Cream Frank Zappa The Who Hendrix Alice in Chains Dead Kennedys Primus and Les Claypool affiliates. (I lump them together. even though Primus and Oysterhead are quite different, they have the Les factor, which is the only reason I listen to it.)
