Guest What?

I just saw this about four hours ago, and the horrible acting, dumber than shit plot and the duo of Razor and Blade, the make-up wearing she-male hackers, totally turned me off to this movie.

Does anyone agree?

Yes. Awful movie.

I must admit, I only watched it to see early Angelina Jolie. But they even buzzkill that by giving her the haircut of a 12 year old boy.

Exactly what I thought when I saw it too.

Plus, the main villain was the biggest nerd of a guy I have ever seen. He fucking taunted in a Virtual Reality game and acted like he was actually being hit! WHAT THE FUCK?!

General rule of thumb: ANY movie plot based around computers is gonna suck. There are exceptions, I was partial to Tron, but even it was kinda hokey.

yeah back in the day Mac OS was superior to Windows 3.11

Hackers was a good movie that had a great soundtrack. Mathew Illard was golden in the movie, plus it had Penn Julliet as a security guard.

I remember when the movie came out it was really unduly trashed for giving an incredibly inaccurate portrayal of the hacker community (not entirely unlike Lillard's later film SLC Punk! which was trashed for not giving an accurate portrayal of the punk movement in the 80s), but I didn't necessarily see that as a bad thing. I kinda liked the strange little world they created. True, Fisher Stevens might not have been the best choice for the villain and the plot was more than a little predictable, but it was an enjoyable hour and a half.

I'd have to disagree on the Jolie hair issue -- I thought she never looked better than with the short hair. Kinda wish she'd go back to it. But then I have rather strange tastes.
