Oh, so fans shouldn't enjoy themselves just to make you happy, huh?  They should jut sit down and be quiet unless Chris Benoit or Lance Storm walk out, huh?  They shouldn't chant "What?" because it's annoying for the people who want to sit down and "count the Rock's punches".

Man, grow up, the fans are just enjoying themselves, it's just entertainment.

Well..given what shows have been like lately you had to think that the word WHAT may be uttered a few times don't you think? Honestly if you thought different then you haven't been watching RAW for the past couple months I suppose. God forbid fans actually appear to  be having a good time. As for destroying your "sport", lets empty the arena next time and have no fans..lets see how your "sport" survives then. If you don't like to chant anything or say anything and sit quietly thats your choice, more power to you..but i think calling other fans morons for expressing themselves at a show they paid to get into is kinda silly isn't it? I dare you to tell those  fans to shut up and see what kinda reaction you get..if you get one at all. Just goes to show some people seriously need to lighten up and quit finding something to bitch about for the sake of bitching.

rickyb,,,mabey you should growup and quit whating

Uhh, when i'm at Wrestling events I like to enjoy myself so I do shout "What?" and I do boo the heels (unless the heel is called either Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall or Bret Hart) and I do cheer the faces.  I mean what's the point of going to a Wrestling event just to sit their and watch it, if that's what you want to do then you may as well just sit at home because their isn't any point of going to watch it live because shouting "WHAT?", booing the faces and cheering the heels is part of the expiriance of seeing it live.  The Wrestlers go out there to get that reaction out of the fans, that is their job.  I mean Wrestling has always been about the fans getting involved in the event (getting them to boo, getting them to cheer) so what did you expect when you went to the event.

You really do need to grow up if you think that the fans should just sit down and shut up just because you want them too.

Although I hate the "What" chants, I hate it even more when the crowd is totally dead.  If a crowd is hot, I can even watch scrubs wrestle and enjoy the show.

I agree that fans can say whatever they want, but I usually go to wrestling and sometimes just sit there and quietly enjoy myself. So Ricky B just because I don't yell stuff does that mean I shouldn't be there?Well occurding to you it does but I have a different opinion.

Thanks.

Please don't bitch about the fact that you get to see two or three wrestling shows a year and one of them sucked.  At least you are in an area that gets visited sometimes.  I have to make a 3 hour trek to Vancouver BC for any shows I want to see and they don't come that often.  Luckily I also know the hotel where Vince and Co. stay while in town so it is always a good time.

Ha... You're the biggest shithead I've ever seen.  You want to go to a show, and expect everyone around you to just sit there and not enjoy themselves?  Just because you think you're too good to cheer for the faces and show that you're really enjoying yourself doesn't mean that the other people around you should sit there and not have a good time.

I think YOU should grow up and stop whining... WHAT?  I said YOU should grow up and stop whining.

Face it, wrestling fans are going to be rowdy, loud, say "What?", cheer there heads off and just plain have a good time. Maybe that pisses you off, but them and the other 10,000 people in attendence are having a good time. If you loud crowds are "killing" this sport for you, the go watch golf or a chess match or something.

THAT'S EXACTLY  what the fans should do, no enjoyment allowed unless the wrestlers have been trained by someone with the last name "hart"

Dpac, I could not agree more. I am from Minnesota and drove to No Way Out and the crowd was absolutley HORRIBLE. I've been to several WWF shows but never anything with that bad of a crowd. They were pure white trash. The WHAT chants are absolutley horrible, but the most offensive chants were the "faggot" chants that Billy, Chuck, and Goldust got. I'm not gay and I was extremely offended. Then I started giving motherfucking Bradshaw (who i hate me more than face Undertaker) shit and they all looked at me like I was crazy. I've been to many WWF shows but I have never seen such 100% pure ignorant, white trash MARKS ever. It was rediculous. We tried to giving the show heat. We ohhed and ahhed and screamed at every single wrestling move. But nothing worked. It was a fun time and the show was good, but the crowd was just sad. It was pathetic.

I never said that.  What I said was that he can sit quietly if he wants, but he shouldn't expect everyone too.

ok,,i never said people should go to shows and not say a word,,all i said was that the whating is destroying the show,,,it was impossible to hear any of the interviews,,,and isn't that one of the focal point of wrestling?, ,,so i should say fuckit,,, let these fucks have a good time yelling what for no reason so i can have no idea what is going on?? ,,,,right off the top of the show i was so excited to finally see the nwo,,,,but quickly they were lost in the world of what,,,but obviously none of you guys were at the show and you really can't express an opinion of what is was like

I don't think that there is anything wrong with the "What" chants.  Wrestling is just entertainment, too many people on here take it way to seriously.

What I don't understand is that they shouted "What" during pauses in the promo so you should have been able to hear the nWo promo perfectly well.

I think that the fans should be able to chant what they want, they pay for the tickets and they go there to have fun.  If I went to a WWF show then i'd just join in... it's just entertainment, don't take it so seriously.

I ended up driving 6 hours to No Way Out (from Mankato, MN)...spending 300 dollars on a 4th row ticket (If anyone saw a HP sign, that was me), and I had a great f'n time. When you go to a show go ahead and chant for who you want (hell I was cheering for Angle and Jericho like crazy and didn't give a crap if anyone liked it or not), but don't blame people for being marks.....facts of the matter is most fans aren't "smart" to the business, and whats so wrong with that anyway?

I don't know where you were seated or if you had rowdy fans around you, but I heard the promos just fine enough, and I was two sheets to the wind drunk even. Even though I hate the WHAT chants myself, I actually enjoyed it being there live and interacting in that way. The only thing that really upset me was the f'n security who took my digi cam until the end of the show half way through and the same idiot kept telling us to sit down, stop puttin up our signs, etc. The crowd was fine with me, much louder than it came across on TV.

The Hogan chant was something else.......I did NOT expect that.

Where I am we are lucky to get one show a year. You get three f'n shows per year yet you bitch and moan because other fans are having a great time? What a load of crap.

Yeah, we hardly ever get shows. It's always good to go to live events anyways. WrestleMania 16, 17, and Fully Loaded '99 were all close enough to travel; and I wish I had gone since my friend went to 17 and Fully Loaded. Defiantely live events are always fun, and there's not really a huge point in seeing great wrestling since you can't really see it again.

I was at the No Way Out show too, but I thought the Milwaukee crowd was ok, given what the WWF gave us to work with. They went nuts for the nWo and especially Hogan, as I did; gave RVD, Rock, HHH and Austin pops, and everyone in my section sang 'you suck' to Angle's music. There were 'whats' throughout the night, and I don't have a problem with it, that was just people having fun, we're not all online fans. Everyone went 'what' to all of Austin's moves and 'wooo' to his chops the first five minutes, until we realized that's all the match was going to be. And like I said in the ppv thread, Milwaukee is one of the fattest cities in America, and can barely manage to stand up and sit down repeatedly during a three hour show. They were trying!

What is with this whole "I dont wanna go to wrestling live cause its full of marks and it makes me sick blahblah" shit?

The people who complain about "marks" are just as bad as them.  I really cant stand this whole preconceived notion of smark superiority.  Its childish and it ruins the fun.  The people that nitpick everything and complain about other fans are missing the point and the fun of actually going in the first place.

I cant believe I just said that.

Smarks are for losers. Remember that. Nobody wants to be smark. Smarks are repressed marks.

Well, I have to agree on both sides of this argument.  I think everyone in the crowd should get involved with the show... cheering, booing, chanting, etc...  But I also have to agree, having gone to two live shows in the last few months myself, that the "What" chants really ARE very annoying.  It totally drowns out the promos, and not a single heel can get through their promo without the chant starting up.  I feel bad for the wrestlers who have to deal with it, because it's not heat for the heel merits of their character, it's leftover Austin face heat... kind of like how people used to chant "Rocky" during every heel segment, even if the Rock wasn't feuding with that heel.

Hey, I love wrestling, and I love participating at live events, and nothing beats a hot crowd... but the What shit is just really, really stupid.

Twice in the last week I've had to explain to people who haven't watched wrestling in a while why people say "What" after every sentence.  You know what the reaction is?  "That's so stupid."

And how!

Well, the "What" chants will sho which Wrestlers have good mic skills and which ones don't.

Look at it, Angle plays off the what chants, and Hogan did a great job of shutting the crowd up "WHAT...." "Chu gonna do" after he did that a lot of fans stopped shouting "What".  Really, if someone is in Wrestling today then they should be able to think on their feet quick enough to stop the "What" chants.  When Jericho is on the mic then people usually don't WHAT his promos.  Same with Flair, and the same with the nWo's "apology".

Choken one why would u even expect a smark to actually EJNOY something? christ why drive 6 hours and pay good money and then just whine about how the fans suck and made u have a bad time? Of course the fans say markish things....but i gurantee you they are other fans there who arent like that, it may be a small pecrentage but they are there. Honestly a god damn wrestling show (unless its something huge like wrestlemania) isnt worth driving long distances and paying LOTS of money to see. wrestling shows are boom and bust...and most of the time its a bust.

It's wierd. The last time I went to a WWF show was when RAW rolled in San Antonio on Sep. 10, a day before the U.S. was turned upside down. The What?!?! chants were reserved for Austin only to piss him off. The show was rock solid with some decent matches. Plus Booker beat UT (raise the roof!!!). But lately the shows have been so hit or miss that I don't think I could pay that much money for some subpar crap when Smackdown rolls here in a couple of weeks.

honestly ur not gonna get any great matches if u go to raw or smackdown....its mostly backstage stuff and interviews. The last raw i went to was the one where austin turned face for like a week and beat up about 30 alliance jobbers. And then promptly turned heel a week later at invasion. The crowd went apeshit for austin but not much else happened. But the show looks about 15 times bettter if u have a really good seat.....ive seen some bad shows from second row, but they've been well worth the money, becuase of the interaction u can have with some of the wrestlers.....IE calling billy gunn a jobber during the jakked tapings and seeing him noticeably upset....thats a GREAT feeling.

That's not necessarily true. HHH-Angle from this past week was the best match HHH has had since he has been back. Sometimes Smackdown can have two or three great or at least watchable matches (not this week).

I'm afraid though with the NWO storyline taking place you probably right. Sucks for me. I can only hope that Smackdown will cater to the in-ring aspect of wrestling in the future.

Also, pissing off Billy Gunn is always a good thing
