TV Shows on DVD

Recommended Posts

Guest C.H.U.D.

The Homer goes to NYC episode BETTER be included, cuz it's the first episode to have a C.H.U.D. joke. Yes, C.H.U.D. is mentioned in a few episodes.

As for "If you're a fan of a specific show and want all the episodes in the order they are shown without commercials, record them off TV as you watch them and hit pause when the commercials come on".

Well, that is impossible since many shows are not shown in the EXACT order they were shown originally. 2nd, who wants to sit around and tape everything while pausing the commercials? I'd rather drop $30 or $40 and have the DVD, so I can watch an episode when the mood strikes me, rather than waste my life recording everything off TV.

Leth, it seems like your doing an awful lot of work when you could just buy it for 35 bucks with commentary and the other fun of DVDs.

I have the first two "Buffy" seasons, I'll most likey get "24", because it rocked all, and the "Simpsons" soon. Being able to just kick back in an afternoon and watch a particular storyline of your favorite show is much better than sitting around waiting for them to come on in syndication, taping them, fast-forwarding through commercials and all that jolly stuff.

What do I want to see come out on DVD?

The Pretender

Matlock

Norm

Newsradio

Just Shoot Me

Lois and Clark

You know. My name is Lethargic. I'm the lazy guy. But yet you guys act like pushing the pause button on a remote control is right next to being on a chain gang. Good gravy. I surrender my laziness crown and bow down to the laziness. God, hitting the record button is "a lot of work." That's....wow. I don't know.

I'd shoot myself in the head before I'd ever spend 35 friggin dollars on a TV show. Hell, on any DVD for that matter. I wouldn't spend 35 dollars for my favorite MOVIE on DVD much less some crappy TV show.

Simple fact is..DVD's just a lot more convinent. Screw recording, screw the time it takes, and screw the VHS tapes themselves. A lot of us are busy people, and don't really have time to sit there and record every little bit.

DVD's have no commercials, you can skip directly to what you want, never have to rewind, and they take up less space.

I guess you can see which I prefer.

Duh.  Of course I own a DVD player.  Hell, I said I burnt the shows to VCD and recorded them.  I couldn't do that without a DVD player.  But I own it for DVDs.  Not TV.  If I wanna watch TV, I'll just watch TV.  And I'm not saying that I'd buy VHS of TV shows either, it's not a DVD thing.  I'm saying I don't get any of it.  Recording the shows when they come on works fine for me and I can save that money to buy something worth buying that I can't get everyday for free.

You CAN watch VCDs on your computer. Which is why I asked. I needed to know where you were coming from - it sounded like you were entirely anti-DVD.

Yeah but if I was gonna watch it on my computer I wouldn't put it on disc then watch it. That would be an extra step and I'm too lazy for that.

Fair enough.
