Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 Damn! I-hope-Sonny-Siaki-would-win-the-match,but since-Low-Ki-won-the-Title-last-week,he should-retain.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 As I said in the preview... I expect Lo Ki to retain...but with Russo around you just never know. They could throw the X title into the Elvis angle. Which I think would be a bad idea...
Guest I Fear Hogans Air Guitair Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 As I said in the preview... I expect Lo Ki to retain...but with Russo around you just never know. Guest Ravenbomb Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 ok, this is gonna be the first NWA ppv I order (hopefully), so I've a few questions: Are the Elvises any good? Is the commentary annoying or average or good or what? Is Ron Killings better now than when he was K-Krush/Kwik (same guy, right) in the WWF? Does NWA have a lot of backstage segments?
Guest Ravenbomb Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 oh, I guess the week 9 show already happened. Sorry, ignore that last post
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 Well...I'll still answer the questions for you. 1. Are the Elvises any good? Jimmy Yang is awesome. Sonny Siaki is solid, but annoying when he talks. Jorge Estrada just always looks lost out there. The three are fine entertainers in big spot fests (vs. SAT week 8) but I get the feeling that only Yang and Siaki can actually work a match. Siaki had a decent wrestling match with Slash a few weeks ago...and Slash is nothing to write home about, and Yang is the best of them. So Yang vs. Siaki this week (10) should be good. 2. Is the commentary annoying or average or good or what? Mike Tenay is good. He's better as the play by play man then he was as the third man at the table in WCW. Ferrara, I don't really notice much. He's certainly better than LAwler in that he's not annoying...and he tries to make sense out of things as a heel announcer (angles and whatnot, from a heel perspective) but he's pretty unmemorable. Don West may be the Devil. He's got a terrible voice, doesn't know what he's talking about...and is real annoying. Funnily enough...he was fairly decent as the straight color man 2 weeks ago when Ferrara left the booth...but he's just plain bad as the third man. He has shown some improvement though. 3. Is Ron Killings better now than when he was K-Krush/Kwik (same guy, right) in the WWF? Remarkably so. I know its hard to picture K-Kwick as a beleivable champion...but there it is. Probably the thing TNA has done the most right outside of the X division. They didn't just create a new star...they created a new superstar. 4. Does NWA have a lot of backstage segments? It's funny...they used to just have very brief ones in between matches so that the guys from the last match could get out of the ring...but they've had more and more lately...and worse...they've pretty much all been terrible, and led to worse things in the ring as a result. Vince Russo, I am again...looking at you.
