Hogan v. Rikishi?

Recommended Posts

Guest The Masked Yodeler

From 411wrestling.com

-A match between Hulk Hogan and Rikishi will also happen on the WWF house show in Tampa, FL on March 1st.

I would pay good money to see Hogan get the stinkface.

I wonder why Hogan vs. Rikiski is booked?  Must be to see Hogan gets his face shoved up Rikishi's ass.

Well, Rikishi's:

1)  Slow, so it's not like Hogan will be pushed to the limit

2)  Fat, so you have the classic "Hogan vs. Fat Guy" match that Hogan probably knows how to work in his sleep

3)  Willing to Job, considering he's not really doing anything else for the time being

It's not a bad choice overall, especially for the Stinkface factor.  :)

Well, for the sake of the NWO angle, I would hope Hogan *doesn't* get the Stinkface.  Wouldn't make much sense for the leader of the group that will destroy the WWF to have his face in a mid-carder's ass.

The stinkface is just like the worm, it should be done cos the crowd digs it, just as long as it has no impact on the finish.

The Stinkface doesn't have to actually happen, it's just the possibility and the in-match tease of it that the WWF's thinking of.

A Hogan/Rikishi house show match is bathroom/food break time. You might not be able to come up with a more worse matchup than that. I think this could be worse than anything with Nash in it.(yeah I said, so go flame me)

Key word here is that it's a house show, so it doesn't really matter if Hogan gets the Stinkface or not. The only people that win are the people that happen to watch it in Tampa should it actually happen.

General rule of the WWF, with a few exceptions: If it happens on a house show, it never happened at all.

I would hate to have to watch that match. I hate Rikishi so much. I remember before he was injured he was actually not too bad, but now, his matches are about thirty seconds long, and all end with him using the stinkface on an apponent that will leave the ring afterwards.

Too bad the match won't be televised.  Not only will we miss seeing Hogan's moonsault and tope suicida, we'll also have the misfortune of missing Rikishi's hurricanrana and Space Flying Tiger Drop.

You know, after seeing everyone from Terry Funk to Vader to the Headhunters to Mike Rapada doing moonsaults, I've become convinced that pretty much ANY wrestler can do one if they reeeeeally want to.  If Hogan could at least try one, just try it once, I think I'd mark out so hard that I'd have a heart attack and die right there, a happy man.

He does though, with the evil Legdrop.  Of course, it's only about two inches nowadays, but it's still of the ground.

In that case, I want to see him do a move besides a double axe handle, off the top rope.

I think this'll be a good match, but Hogan has to be able to take Rikishi off his game in the early going for hit-and-run attacks. Once he gets him dazed, he can take the big guy off his vertical base and wear him down with holds. He needs to make sure to get in some good damage with the chinlock and the sleeper. This should soften Rikishi up around the head and neck, which would make Hogan's finishing combo all the more devastating and give him the duke.

As for Rikishi ... well, I hate him and want him to lose. So I'm not going to give him any advice.

I thought someone would have caught the irony of having this match. Who's move did Rikishi steal? Yokozuna's banzai  drop! Yokozuna was Hogan's last opponent in the wwf. You see if Hogan can simply kick out of the banzai drop it will show he went into wwf hibernation to return to conquer this deadly move. It will show that Hogan has been studying to improve his wrestling skills for his great comeback in the wwf. The wwf will ignore everything from Hogan/Yoko in 1993 by wiping out the wwf history from 1994 until the NWO ppv. So Hogan comes back to greatness by defeating Rikishi and then beating the Ultimate Warrior er Ultimate Hunter in a rematch in his only other pinfall loss that he never recovered from. Vince Mcmahon has the book.

He then goes on to beat Rock er Randy Savage at WrestleMania. He then beats Steve Austin er I mean Roddy Piper and retires in his last match against Ric Flair to finally make the claim that he is the alpha and omega of the wrestling world proving Hulkamania will rule forever!

Sorry, I just over heard the writers and bookers at Titan last night.

It looks like a few of you guys got your wishes.  Hogan took the Stinkface at the Tampa house show yesterday.

A review from wrestlingobserver.com:

Hollywood Hogan vs. Rikishi

In order for the aging Hulkster to look good, his opponents have to sell convincingly for his moves. Rikishi did exactly that by bumping quickly every time Hogan threw a punch. Usually Rikishi is portrayed as the "more powerful" of the two men in the ring, but it was Hogan who looked like the powerhouse here. In the end Rikishi missed a bonzai drop, which allowed Hollywood to hit a legdrop for the win. After the match, Rikishi was able to get his heat back by giving Hogan the Stinkface. There have been many doubts about the nWo, but Hulk did what was right for business here. A fun match.

How did he "do what was right for business"?

I don't get it.

He did what was right for business because he let the face get the final laugh, even if it was via Stinkface.  The fans went home happy.

Oh, okay. I thought for a second it meant Hogan did what was right for business by kicking Rikishi's ass and taking him off his vertical base.

Beating up Rikishi is right for business, too.
