Isn't chillin' at a high school game with your best friend or with your girlfriend one of the most enjoyable experiences you can have? Seems like it'd be more fun than actually playing on the field.

Any thoughts?

Yes it does sound nice, but I never attended one cause I had no gf or friends. But I did enjoy watching the replays on the local channel.

I used to go to games all the time with my friends. And yeah, it was great. Even got to watch some future NFL players too - Daylon McCutcheon, Kory Minor and Ralph Brown.

Nah. Walking the sidelines with a clipboard in your hand is better than sitting in the stands.

Of course, it'd be better if my high school team had not filled the last 50 years with pure suck; we've had one state appearance in our history and that was in 1991.

Man, that really sucks. But the first two years of my high school "career" were like that, so I can relate.

High School Football was always hella boring. It was fun sometimes to see the jocks get their asses handed to them on a platter though.

three years and still undefeated in regular season...

ranked 16 in Ontario...

thanks to my special ability to bench warm, we would not have this opportunity

Heh, I attended every football game in my high school stint as a member of the marching band (GEEK ALERT! CODE RED!) and let me tell you...the game on the field has absolutely nothing on the games on the "outside".

since i went to an urban school, the games were always crazy far away, so i never bothered to go at all

Watching the game wasn't any of the fun either... it's hanging out that's the fun part.

Ha... though it is funny that our Varsity went 0-9 last season... ending a school's (Coleman) losing streak of two seasons.

Last game I went to for my local high school was sometime last year (i graduated in 2000). I caught up with some friends of mine and just chilled with them. Anywho, keep in mind that this is the Deep South, and race relations aren't as good as they should be. So anyways, I'm talking with my friend on the middle of this hill (he's black, I'm white) and we look at the top and see all these rednecks there. At the bottom, we see a whole bunch of black people. Needless to say we figured what was going to happen and got the hell out of there. Well we're walking around, me and my buddy catch up to another group of friends we know. We see each other and act like we're about to fight, but just fooling around, when one of the assistant principals sees us, gets some cops, and has us thrown out.

I hated most of the players on my schools team, but I went to every home game as a member of the marching band and had a great time messing around with my friends in the band. What was really fun was watching our team, full of stuck up jocks that thought they were so great, go like 9-29 over my 4 years. GO INDIANS!!

The only thing on the field that was enjoyable was when we won a game that ended a 37-game losing streak. Rah. Although the season I was on the sidelines as equipment manager was fun. Best seats in the house.

I went to the football games my first two years in highschool, there were always fist-fights behind the bleachers. When I started my junior year I discovered the joys of alcohol and decided getting drunk with friends was better than sitting around with a bunch of alumni and parents at a highschool football game.

My school was quite terrible at football most of the time. During the first year I was there, we had one guy who was a great football player, albeit dumb as a fencepost. He led the school to some playoff game, where we lost. The rest of the years I was there, my school sucked the meat missile though.

I usually went to the homecoming games. I will never forget one in my Sophomore year where the cheerleaders wanted to use part of my homecoming float(a lion with an arrow sticking out of it. My school's name was the Arrows.) to mock the other team. They were up 7-0 at that point, the opposing team proceeded to stomp a mudhole into the team after that. Ah well. I was happy because my float was easily the cheerleaders' favourite, so my ego was huge that day.
