Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted August 13, 2002 Well, Jeff was okay until 2001 or so. Ah hell, I'll admit half the appeal in 99 through early 2000 was their looks. Then sometime in 2001 Jeff not only seemed to stop caring but chose to wreck his appearance with the Dennis Rodman hair, and later the skin painting crap. Matt tried to keep up by switching to baggy pants. Whatever. Even pictures you see of the guy at home or whatever are getting freakier and freakier with every passing year. So you have to wonder if there some sort of substance involved, or if this kind of behavior is common for for fans of artists such as Marilyn Manson or what (I know I sound tragically unhip by saying that, but he too paints himself up like a complete weirdo, and I have no knowledge of the hardcore rock scene, so.. *shrug*)
Guest AnnieEclectic Report post Posted August 13, 2002 Cutthroat.. please, shut up. Not because you said something stupid but because you said it first I'm forced to agree with you. Yeah, her mic skills aren't the best but she's easily the most attractive WWE "Diva" *spit* on the roster, and probably the only one worth looking up to save Molly, even though they put the heel hat on her. Also, by the way, the second most attractive.... fuck it, woman. Diva is shit, I hate the word, they should stop using it and get Stacy Fucking Keibler off my TV. Please. Yay, RAW gets a skank in panties while the best looking one has to sit out with a broken neck. Fate sucks. as for Matt v. Jeff, I like Jeff to be honest, but don't want to see another feud like this. They only work well -with- each other. However if the SD jump is done as predicted.... and Raven shows up.... oohhhhhh Flock-like goodness abounds. they could randomly attack Jeff on RAW and so he seeks out help in the form of a counter stable.... headed up by none other than YOUR HARDCORE CHAMPION TOMMY DREAMER!!! damn.... I'd pay to see that. WWE pulls that crap I'm fan for life. Period. The Hardcore Queen has spoken. -Annie
Guest pochorenella Report post Posted August 13, 2002 I heard they had a pretty great match in OMEGA a few years back that was Title vs. Mask or something like that (Jeff was Will O' the Wisp), and it was voted one of the Top 10 or so Independent matches of the 90's. I believe it's available from a number of tape traders. So who's to say they can't pull it off again? Just because they had that last match that was terrible? Wait until it happens (if in fact, it does) and then pan it as much as you like. I like the Hardys, so I'm willing to give them another chance (even though I agree their last match sucked). Guest Brian Report post Posted August 13, 2002 Yes, they had a lot of great matches. Singles and tag. The match your looking for is 7/31/98, here's the DVDVR review: ""Willow The Whisp vs. Surge: They had a cool multiple Willow opening (25) to this. The basic premise was that this match was going to be two out of three falls, with one fall being normal, one fall being a submissions match and one fall being No -DQ. This was a cool concept although the submission section was a little more pedestrian, I was hoping to see some more shootstyle mat stuff from Willow, who had just returned from Battlearts (26), also Surge did his Megahurtz finisher in the first 8 minutes of the match and didn't get the pin. This really diluted the cool finisher exchange at the end of the third fall. The match didn't really get rocking until the final fall (27) where these guys really let it loose, including my favorite spot of the night as Surge was layed on a table which was propped up on the guardrail and does a tope-con-hilo through the table leaving a big hole in the middle of the table. They have a double pin ending then starting a fourth fall which Venom runs in and beats everyone up. They then have the big unmasking anyway with the emotion and the angles and stuff. It was really cool because you could tell that most of the crowd didn't know that Willow The Whisp was Jeff Hardy. Great garbagey match with a pretty cool storyline, kind of a tricked out WWF PPV main event. I wish it had ended clean though. (PS) I was hoping that they were going to do a whole ending with Matt injurying Willow on some crazy spot and then after unmasking him and finding out it was his brother, freaking out because he had just crippled him. But that was just me.(PR) The multiple Willows deal had the scary moment where one of them did a baseball slide and accidently slid into a five year old. I was scared until I noticed that the youngster seemed totally unfazed. I'm with Schneider on the second fall. The first problem I had was that they didn't really get over the stipulations of the fall until half way through it. The main problem was that going that long on the mat for a whole fall kinda killed the crowd for a while because to do a submission fall you have to build to it better than what they did- maybe they should have stood there and kick each other a whole bunch and then the submission could have popped out, instead of a slow progression mat wrestling that went into Southern pressure holds into what could have been submission holds. I dunno. The dynamics of the fall were all wrong for me to like it. I don't blame the wrestlers, I blame the fact that the pro-style selling of submissions as long, extended weardown holds for so long has killed any big pop you can get for anything other than the Texas Cloverleaf, Dragon Sleeper and the Scorpion Deathlock- so I figured it was going to be kinda plodding and American pro-style up to one of these finishers. And it was. I dunno. I dig the fact that they tried it, but the place they were wrestling and the style that it commands doesn't make for very intriguing submission wrestling so we got this. The third fall was great for the highspots and the ending nearfall sequence was totally insane and I dug it the most. The ending was weak and they could have definately made this one fall no DQ and come away with a more focused match. I really dug this match though despite its flaws because the ending was so intense.(DR)" I miss those Hardys. A whole lot. Matt's always been a great wrestler. Jeff always been a great flier, wh could take to the mat, and a decent worker. But he got lazy about a year-and-a-half ago and has been doing basically the same match in the majority of his matches, especially tag. He's just gotten really complacent. Matt seems motivated now, there was a brief period where he was nothing. Am I the only one that somewhat enjoyed the Hardys match? It was a decent match minus the crowd. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted August 13, 2002 Lita is terrible looking. Molly is the best looking, followed by Trish, Stacy, Torrie, Dawn Marie Nidia and Ivory, in no order.

Guest Downhome Report post Posted August 13, 2002 Not that you care, but here are some various thoughts on the entire Matt/Jeff thing overall... Their breaking up this time: I will admit that it wasn't done pefectly. At least we had the small angle in the back with Jeff/RVD/Bish before the match, so that can explain a bit of it. Like someone said, Matt is obviously pissed that Jeff gets all of the praise. I do not like how they did the break up, as in what match it happened in. We have Jeff Hardy Vs. RVD, both who are faces, against each other. When Matt Hardy did what he did, people seemd confused as hell as to if they should cheer for the fact that Matt just helped RVD, or if they should boo because he turned on his brother. That was just HIGHLY bad thought out booking if you ask me. The only way that I can think to excuse such a thing, is if they bring Matt over to Smackdown, and have him as a face there. If Matt is on RAW though, he's a heel, if he goes to SD, I think he'll be a face. Matt Vs. Jeff Hardy II: Ok, the first one was horrid, period. They were told to go out there and perform in the style which we wanted to see, and they (for some reason I still do not know) went out there and did the exact oppisite. If Matt and Jeff go out there, put out a fast paced, high flying, heated performance, then we will be talking! If they go out there and just stay grounded, and act horrid as we saw the first time, it will be, well, horrid once again. The match has potential, and that's that. We do not however know if they will even fight. Matt could jump to SD, just to get out of the shadow of his brother, and become a face in his own right. Perhaps teaming with Edge, Cena, and Mysterio? You may not like the sound of that, but I for one will really be into that, especially if they are facing a group consisting of Angle, Benoit, Eddie, etc... The mic skills of Matt/Jeff/Lita: First off, Lita has no redeming quality as far as it comes to speaking. She is horrible, and should never do it except in rare instances, untill she improves anyhow. As for Jeff, I don't like his promos when he's "fine", but stuff like he did after the Taker ladder match, I was really into that, as he came across as "real", I personally though he delivered that in a great way. Finally, we have Matt. Matt in my opinion is the best out of the three, but not GREAT. I think with time, Matt can improve in this department, and can only get better over time. We need to cut them all slack though, as none of them have had TOO many chances to really work on it on screen. It takes time, and in time they'll all get better, but never will be remembered for it. So yeah, I think Matt's the best, Jeff is good when emotional, and Lita should do it only in rare instances. Lita: When she comes back, we don't even know if she'll be with a Hardy. For all we know, she'll come back just as her own person, in the womens division. If she goes with a Hardy, she will be with Matt however. I see Matt going to SD and Lita joining him there. As far as looks, I really dig her when she's "fixed up". I think it's her breasts, it must be. I also like her hot little body, as for her face, when it is void of touch up, it's a no-no. When she is all "fixed up", then I can deal with it.
