Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted August 14, 2002 I have seen plenty of Lugers 80s work.... and he still sucks seriously though, Luger did have some classics against Flair and Steamboat amongst others. He could be carried to great matches, but was never a great worker, IMO.
Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted August 14, 2002 There were much better people in the NWA in the late '80s then Luger.
Guest LexLugerRules Report post Posted August 14, 2002 I suppose Dan Spivey, and Nikiti Koloff carried him to those great matches.
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted August 14, 2002 no, i would say Flair, Steamboat, Pillman, Windham, Sting, Steiners carried Luger to his best matches.
Guest LexLugerRules Report post Posted August 14, 2002 The only person who really carried Luger was Flair. Luger WAS not carried. I seen Steamboat Vs. Luger atleast 100 times. I dont see any signs of being carried. Steiners arent great wrestlers, they were GOOD wrestlers, but they werent great. Espically Rick.

Actually, Scott Steiner was fucking awesome in the late 80s-early 90s. They were the best tag team in the world. Steamboats ring charisma, bumping and selling was the best part of the GAB89 match. The finish sucked though.
Guest LexLugerRules Report post Posted August 14, 2002 Let me steal a post from some RickyCorusa or somthing guy. Watch the matches, and you can see that Steamboat, Flair, Pillman, and Windham weren't carrying him. Well, Flair was, in the sense that Flair was basically working the same match at every show back then, including with Luger, but Lex always knew how to play his role perfectly in the match and was much better fit for Flair than most. Hell, Luger had some matches with Koloff that were down-right awesome, and Nikita was hardly great. Luger was a smart worker in '89, both in the way he got heat on himself and his opponent. Again, being around other great workers helped him, but he was down-right awesome in his own right, and is probably one of the forgotten workers from that era, mainly because of what he did in the ten years afterwards. Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted August 14, 2002 Ok, Luger was good 13 years ago. He hasn't been good for about 12 years then.

Guest LexLugerRules Report post Posted August 14, 2002 His prime ended in some where in late 1991, to thats only 10 years. And thats when I was a Luger fan. I stopped being a huge mark, after he left the WWF in 1995. Sure he sucked than, but I liked him anyway.

Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted August 14, 2002 The Luger goodness of late 80's NWA is outweighed many, many times over by the unmittigated crap that he did for the next ten years.
