Guest NotSuper Report post Posted August 13, 2002 Man, this channel is messed up. Everyone on it is some right-wing nutcase. Could they kiss Bush's ass more? Anyways, what are your thoughts on this truly ghey channel?
Guest EricMM Report post Posted August 13, 2002 Bill O'Reiley fsckin rules. That is all.
Guest Lethargic Report post Posted August 13, 2002 That's basically the only channel I watch. I'm far being a Bush ass kisser and I've never seen them kiss his ass once. I think they're pretty much exactly as advertised, they give both sides of every story. Except when O'Reilly cuts somebody's mic off, of course. Their news is always ahead of every other channel. I could do without Geraldo, but whatever. I stay up to like 6 in the morning every night/morning/whatever just to watch some of Fox and Friends. That show is crazy. I love Fox News. Guest NotSuper Report post Posted August 13, 2002 Bill O'Reilly fuckin' rules. That is all. Are you kidding? The guy is a censor and always cuts his guests off. He wants ALL pornography to be taken off the internet. He's a right-wing nut. BTW, I corrected your spelling.

The man has quite a few "liberal" believes. I have read both of his books and i would guess that if you did as well, you'd have a much better understanding of the man. Hannity is like a political god to me. I get him on the radio here in Jersey from 3 to 6 and there is alot of things that he admits the George W. has fucked up on and doesn't always back him up. Same with Rush. I can watch Fox News all day long and not really care. I love the morning show, and if not for wrestling and sports would watch O'Reilly and Hannity & Colmes every night. Not a big fan of Greta and kinda miss Paula Zaun(who looks like a dog now on CNN, WTF, she always looked hot on Fox).
Guest DrTom Report post Posted August 13, 2002 I like Fox News, and I like O'Reilly. They're far from unbiased, though, and I wish they'd come out and say that. Having a slant that is opposite from the one the vast majority of the media has is still a slant. I haven't really seen any Bush "ass-kissing," though. Most news programs have been fairly positive toward the president since September.
Guest EricMM Report post Posted August 13, 2002 Are you kidding? The guy is a censor and always cuts his guests off. He wants ALL pornography to be taken off the internet. He's a right-wing nut. BTW, I corrected your spelling. Thanks for correcting my spelling, I will be more serious in the future. No jokes here nossir. I have never said that Bill O'Reilly is not a Republican. But he is not exactly the most right winged person out there. I am liberal, but I agree with almost all of the things he says, and you can disbelieve me if you will, but it often seems he goes past the current political stuff, and brings actual stupidity that defies all political spectrum. I am liberal, but sometimes the ACLU is fucking biased and stupid and he calls them on it. There's nothing wrong with that. And some people just abuse the legal system for easy money, like the woman whos failed attempt at suicide landed her 10 million in damages from the city of NY. Let me put it this way: I respect and enjoy O'Reilly a whole lot more than fucking Donahue who has the same tired story on every day. Yes he is liberal, yes I agree with him 100% usually, but he is fucking annoying and Bill O'Reilly is good TV. *EDIT* And I'm sorry if this thread is overly... antagonistic, but I kind of went into Current Events mode. My bad *EDIT*
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted August 13, 2002 Am I allowed to comment because he is in my banner?? Bill O'Reilly is not Mr. Conservtive. He has criticised Bush many times on his show and other republicans who do bad things. He does not always cut his guests off and when he does its for a reason and is not some right wing nut. Do of any of you actually watch the show?
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted August 13, 2002 "I respect and enjoy O'Reilly a whole lot more than fucking Donahue who has the same tired story on every day." If the ratings are any indication, Donahue won't be around to have the same tired story on every day. I despise Shep. Smith and Laurie Dhue, who is the Lilian Garcia of anchor-chicks IMO, but I dig Brit Hume's show, especially when they have the 3-panel group segment. O'Reilly's the man. Guest bob_barron Report post Posted August 13, 2002 Shepard Smith just tries sooooooo hard to be funny and stuff- but he like isnt.
Guest NotSuper Report post Posted August 13, 2002 I watch the show, because he seems like an "interesting" person. But c'mon, taking all porn off the internet? That's ludracris, impossible, and censorship. I do like some of his views when he isn't overtly conservative, though. I like when he said "we have freedom of religion but we also have freedom FROM religion." People may like O'Reilly, but this thread is about FOX News in general. I saw one Xian(Christian) nutcase who was upset teachersin California were saying homosexuality was okay. Rather than have a debate, the interviewer simply took his side. Not that I give a damn about homosexuality, but I did think this was unfair to those who practice this lifestyle. This was not on "The O'Reilly Factor," BTW. Getting off of Bill, FOX News is clearly Republican biased.

Guest danielisthor Report post Posted August 13, 2002 FOX News is clearly Republican biased. And thats why its ratings beat the hell out of the Clinton News Network (CNN) and MSNBC. back to Reilly though, nobody else had or has the balls to call out Jessie Jackson and investigate him. Thats why people like him, because unlike the pansies on the other networks, he actually goes after people with LEGIT stuff.

Guest Lethargic Report post Posted August 13, 2002 What about that one chick on Fox News? I can never remember her name, she's the old blonde woman that talks like she's been smoking since she was 5. She's as Democrat as a person can possibly get and she's on there pretty much every day on one show or another. I don't subscribe to any party. I'm just for whoever can do the best job. I find the party system to be the stupidest thing about politics. And I still haven't noticed anything on there besides O'Reilly that is overly biased. And isn't O'Reilly a libretarian? I thought I read that in his book.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted August 13, 2002 I think O'Reilly is independent
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted August 13, 2002 Bill O' Reily is alright. Yet he is a figurehead, hence the ratings. Of course he is gonna get good ratings when he gets on there and yells and acts rude. That is what people want to see. But that is a whole other issue from whether his political arguing has any merit or his "stats" are factual at all. Personally, I don't watch just ONE news network, I switch around depending who is on.
Guest DrTom Report post Posted August 13, 2002 That's ludracris, impossible, and censorship I submit that you shouldn't be correcting other people's spelling. In direct reply, that's also his opinion, and since he has his own TV show, he has an outlet to freely express that opinion. I don't agree with it, but he makes his points well enough that I'll listen to him regardless. Fox is the best news network out there because their anchors will state their opinions, support them, and tackle some tough topics and guests. I just wish the network would admit its bias instead of trying to masquerade itself as the paragon of neutrality.
Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2002 Fox News wouldn't get as much bashing if they didn't try to present themselves as unbiased. They have bias. As for O'Reilly.. can we name times that he has disagreed with Bush? alot of right-wing conservatives disagree with Bush, then again, the ones I can mention are ones who think that Bush is being too easy on the Democrats and most GOP congressmen are too close to liberal. Isn't it amusing how both hardcore sides of one party think the leaders of their party are wimps? still.. I barely watch Fox News anyways.. bleh..

This was not on "The O'Reilly Factor," BTW. Getting off of Bill, FOX News is clearly Republican biased. I saw this interview. It was on Hannarty and Colmes (I know I KNOW I misspelled both of their names I'm sorry) which is a show with an intentionally liberal and an intentionally conservative person. While I was pissed off about that interview, it WAS the interviewer and interviewee's opinion, so I don't think they would have had a debate... Fox news is interesting in that it seems to be a network that says "We're biased? You're biased too! We're all biased. Deal with it. Here watch O'Reilly yell at a guest. Ratings!!$$"

A lot of his talking points memos are on the economy and the corportate scum and how Bush should take care of it. He has criticised him many times on that issue. He also, like many others, takes Bush and the republican party to task for the way they view the environment. He may lean towards conservatism but he does criticise Bush when necessary
Guest Vyce Report post Posted August 14, 2002 What bothers you more? That Fox News is biased? Or that they're predominantly conservative? I think I know the answer to that one already. I've said it before, I'll say it again - WHO CARES if they're largely pro-Republican. That makes them unique, as opposed to the other half dozen or so networks / news channels that are largely pro-liberal.

Everytime I see her face on my TV I want to take a shovel to her skull, but that's just my opinion. In addition, I think Shep. Smith calls the final segment of The Fox Report "The G Block" because it's the seventh segment of the show thus it's the "G" segment. I'm not 100% on this guess, but I swear I heard that be the reason once.

That makes them unique, as opposed to the other half dozen or so networks / news channels that are largely pro-liberal. My problem with them isn't their conservatism. That's their own business, the whole point of the free markets is that as long as they stay within FCC guidelines, anyone can make their TV show into anything they want. My problem with them is that they claim to be "fair and balanced" when they're just as biased as any other newscast, only in the other direction.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted August 14, 2002 They are the most fair and balanced news station around. They do tend to have more of a conservative or republican spin. It's better than the other two cable news stations who are more into bashing Bush (espcially CNN), than Fox is into kissing up to Bush.
Guest NotSuper Report post Posted August 14, 2002 That's ludracris, impossible, and censorship I submit that you shouldn't be correcting other people's spelling. Guest DrTom Report post Posted August 15, 2002 When I quote someone I feel it necessary to correct their spelling. Look, up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's my point going RIGHT over your head. You shouldn't feel it "necessary" to play English teacher if you can't spell "ludicrous" right. It was a good adjective before it was a shitty hip-hop artist.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted August 15, 2002 Off topic, for all you Shep. Smith haters, did you know he was arrested for hitting someone with a vehicle during the Election 2000 mess? From what I can remember, he was pulling into a Fla. parking space that some woman was "reserving" for another group and he just ran her over!
