Starcraft anyone?

I'm personally obbessed with the game, and I play on-line as Blizzadent with US West. I'll also touch up on some things in campaign and SC has became one of my favorite games. I suck though.

 

 

 

Your thoughts on Staracraft?

The most addictive real-time strategy ever. Not necessarily the best, per se, but Blizzard definitely tuned everything up for a nice dosage of digital crack.

 

Strangely, I never got into it that much (I can't really stand some of the unit imbalances and it's a weeeee bit too fast for me)...but I can attest to Starcraft's power of stealing souls. *points to most of his video gamer friends*

I enjoy Starcraft. I always liked being the Humans the best. Zerg piss me off at the start of every game.

My multiplayer games seem to follow the same pattern.

 

I harvest like fuck and hope they don't rush.

 

I spend 2 hours building up defenses, then realize I don't have any more units available for any kind of assault.

 

I get overrun anyway.

 

I need a new strategy.

Best single-player storyline ever, IMO.

 

And yes, you need a better strategy, chirs3. Turtling in your base building tons of defense won't do you any good when your opponent is out there taking over every expansion point, thus outmining you while allowing himself to build up an assault army. And when your defenses barely fight his army off, he can easily afford to put together a new army, while you'll be starved for resources.

 

You need to strike a balance between offense and defense. You need to slow him down early (and expand early).

Well, I actually sort of exaggerated. I do expand, but I'm always overdo the defenses. I'll have the bases, and among them the defenses are so big that I don't have enough for an army. I actually did win this way once - I held them off long enough to drain two expansions totally dry, then I scrapped the bases, sent all the defenses at them, then kept pupping out wraiths and marines. Sheer luck.

I'm actually still playing it, I'm on mission 7 of the Protoss which is fucking hard, they always destroy my defenses with those damn reavers!

 

I'm getting ready to break into some online action, look for Nokturnal.

Yeah, I haven't finished Brood War yet (haven't gone back to it in nearly a year). I'm somewhere in the final campaign (Zerg), and I'm trying to take down another Zerg base, but they keep wiping out my army!
