Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2002 Card so far: Brock v. Rikishi... let's roll sucka... ------------------- Opener: Rock comes out, talks about Lesnar, mentions that Brock didn't have the guts to attack him by himself on RAW. He calls out Brock and Paul. They come out. Paul mentions they were only spectators on RAW, but tonight, they will send a dire warning to the Rock. Brock and Heyman leave. Opening match: Hurricane Helms defeats Chuck. Heel miscommunication occurs. Hurricane hits the Overcast. Billy, Chuck and Rico attack. Shannon Moore and John Cena make a save. We see Stephanie in the back with Dawn Marie, still mad over what Stacy did. Kurt Angle comes out to talk about Rey Misterio Jr, and how Rey may have a mask and shiny pants, but he doesn't have gold medals. Rey comes out, talks a bit, before Eddy comes out to make his own challenge to Rey. We fade to the back where we are introduced to a returning star, Bull Buchanan, dubbed "The Smackdown Enforcer", Stephanie mentions him as the man who will keep the Smackdown talent from jumping to RAW, thru intimidation. Molly Holly v. Torrie Wilson. We hear from the announcers of offers from Stephanie to sign Molly exclusively for Smackdown. During the match, Torrie rolls up Molly and gets a suspiciously fast three count and a victory. Molly is baffled. We fade to Chris Benoit in the back, staring at a Rob Van Dam picture, sneering and making a throat cut. Mike Awesome conviently shows up. Benoit asks Awesome if he has anything to share about RVD. Awesome refuses to tell Benoit and Benoit challenges him for later. We fade to Torrie Wilson in the back with Maven, she is obviously unhappy over how she won the Women's title. Stephanie shows up again to inform Torrie that she got the title to prevent Molly from taking it to RAW and keeping the belt there. Instead, Torrie is exclusively on Smackdown as champ and won't be showing up on RAW. Chris Benoit defeats Mike Awesome to retain the Intercontinental title with the Crippler Crossface. We fade to Funaki in the back reading a WWE magazine, with "moments ago" noted. Then the Smackdown Enforcer shows up to interrogate Funaki, noting that he is "The Big Brother" on Smackdown and as long as he is around, anybody who is thinking positively of RAW or Bischoff will be destroyed "for their own good". Funaki is unhappy with this, noting that he has nothing on Smackdown, so The SD Enforcer challenges him to a match so he can 'set Funaki straight' Eddie Guerrero defeats Rey Mysterio Jr due to nefarious heel deeds. Kurt Angle comes down to ringside during the match and he comes into play as he sides a weapon into the ring, forcing the referee to pick it up and put it up, while the ref is doing that, Rey goes for his swing kick thru the ropes and Angle nails him with a chair while Rey is on the apron. Eddy suplexes Rey into the ring and Frog Splashes him for a pin. We see Diamond Dallas Page in the back, looking a bit disappointed, making hints of his first protege being picked for him. Then comes Albert, who is the protege in question. Page tries to play nice with Albert while it seems he can't stand Albert. Page offers Albert coupons for new ring attire and that goes over as well as you'd think. Bull Buchanan, the Smackdown Enforcer defeats Funaki. Punch, kick, Ax Kick, and a pin for Enforcer Buchanan. We fade back to Deacon Bautista and D-Von. They haven't been on good terms lately. They argue a bit more before D-Von tells Batista to take some time to think about all this before he 'does something he regrets later' Val Venis defeats Albert with the Money Shot. Page and Albert don't really work well together. They try and keep cool heads after the match. Brock Lesnar bumps into Kurt Angle and laughs at him for being unable to beat Rey Mysterio Jr. Angle sneers at Lesnar in disgust D-Von and Batista are shown talking, then D-Von refers Batista to a 'man who knows alot about keeping duos together thru tough times', that man is Billy Gunn. D-Von asks Batista to talk about his problems with Billy Gunn while D-Von goes to his match. D-Von defeats Mark Henry with some help from Batista. D-Von and Batista share a hug after the match, having reconciled. We go to the back where Brock and Heyman have some comments Rikishi also has comments, some involving his ass, doing it for the Rock and such Brock Lesnar DESTROYS Rikishi. Laying him out with 3 F-5s, busting him open and beating him silly. Medics come down, The Rock comes down, Brock escapes thru the medics to avoid the Rock. Rock holds Rikishi in his arms as he is being helped. Brock poses on the stage and then.. one man shows up on the stage and stares Lesnar down, that man is Kurt Angle. Angle and Lesnar fight on the stage. We fade to black. --------- Next week on Smackdown: Kurt Angle and The Rock v. Brock and Rey Mysterio? More with Cena and 'Near Fall' and the duo of Chuck, Billy and Rico? The Smackdown Enforcer, will he enforce his way on some other unhappy talent Stephanie, how many times will she show up? will DDP make Albert get a better ringname? all that and more! but I still gotta do RAW first
Guest JHawk Report post Posted August 13, 2002 Aside from Molly being Women's champion and therefore obligated to both shows, this wasn't too bad.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted August 13, 2002 Brock vs. Rikishi as the main event would bomb totally. And you can't take the focus off of Brock vs. Rock and put it on Brock vs. Angle before Summerslam, although Brock vs. Angle is almost a definite for Unforgiven. It's quite sad that everyone knows Rocky doesn't stand a chance in hell on Sunday..
