Guest Incandenza Report post Posted August 16, 2002 It was edited out of the video release. Did Eddy really trip and fall trying to get Test out of the ropes? Oh he definitely fell. It was hilarious to me at the time because of the whole situation. Test was hanging there with his foot stuck in the ropes, the ref's trying to get him out, Eddie's walking around in the ring thinking of what to do, then decides to go on the outside. He goes through the ropes and slips off onto the floor. You can hear the crowd laugh at him. Then, he starts helping the ref in trying to get Test's foot out, and Perry goes up there to help too. In fact, that is the only party of the match I watch when I watch my X7 tape... just for a few good laughs. ::doesn't remember that particular event happening in that manner; gets up and checks DVD copy:: The whole unfortunate incident is right there on the DVD version of Wrestlemania X-7, and Eddy did NOT trip and fall. Here's what ACTUALLY happened, once Test's foot got caught in the ring ropes: Saturn lays in some cheap shots to buy time; ref comes over and tries to free Test but to no avail; Guerrero breaks kayfabe and helps the ref get Test out (Saturn never helped, by the way). Plus, the crowd didn't laugh, the people sitting near the part of that ring applauded when Test was freed, which, in and of itself, was the funniest thing about the situation. Guerrero never fell, so I don't know WTF you're talking about. Heh. That incident aside--which always looks worse in memory than it does in actuality--his meeting with Eddy at Wrestlemania X-7 is still Test's best match ever. Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted August 16, 2002 The DVD edits most of it out, right? I remember Eddie falling, to much laughter. The best part is the sarcastic applause from the crowd when Test gets freed.
Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted August 16, 2002 ::goes and checks VHS copy of WMX7:: Eddy does slip off of the apron and falls getting out of the ring to help Test. I don't know if he did it by accident or on purpose to get a little attention away from Test. It must have been edited for video release.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted August 16, 2002 ::checks DVD copy again:: The only possible edit I see cuts to the other side of the ring, where it appears that Eddy is still getting out. Plus, I checked a couple of at-the-time recent recaps of the PPV, and none of them mention Eddy falling, though all make sure to get their cracks in at Test. EDIT: And yeah, the crowd's applause was very funny.
Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted August 16, 2002 That must have been the edit, because the PPV feed never switched to the other view they had it on Test's side the whole time.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted August 16, 2002 They could've cut the whole debacle out if they wanted to--show Test going out of the ring; cut to a shot of Guerrero; cut to a shot of Test on the floor. Redubbing the commentary for that portion is simple enough, so I wonder why they left it in? Still, the scene doesn't look as bad as memory dictates. Whenever I think of it, I mentally picture Perry, Eddy and the ref frantically trying to free Test, while midgets dance and Shane McMahon cries.
Guest TestKick Report post Posted August 16, 2002 ::checks DVD:: If you watch closely, you can see that it's Eddy's fault that Test got caught. Eddy needs to be more careful, he was probably on drugs.

Sure it was. If you watch carefully you will also see that its Eddy's fault the match is a half-way decent contest.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted August 16, 2002 Doesn't SK drink and review at the same time? Only for certain PPVs that would be impossible to sit through without being drunk, I think.

I taped it directly from the payperview. I watched it just a few days ago to show my friend. He fell.
Guest TestKick Report post Posted August 17, 2002 I correct myself. It was Jericho's fault... he made the ropes loose before the match by doing his sloppy Lionsault. Blame Jericho.
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted August 17, 2002 Seriously though, how about we blame Test for being a steaming pile of dung.
Guest The Superstar Report post Posted August 17, 2002 I'm joining Anglesault in spitting soda over my keyboard...but it was because of TakerMark's sig. Thanks dude.
Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted August 17, 2002 Yeah, they definetly edited the fall by Eddy on DVD. When I watched it live, I thought the match was dull, so I went to get a Coke, I came back and Eddy went to step out of the ring regularly. He was set-off balance by the fact that the middle rope wasn't there, so he fell to the mat. The people that saw it, started to laugh. That's it. They edited it on the DVD. Oh, and I say DUD for Test v. Undertaker. Probably Kane returns, and then we get Kane/Taker (Brothers of Desultory) v. UnAmericans for the Tag's at No Mercy, or whatever PPV is next. Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted August 18, 2002 I guarantee that Test-Taker will be better than Rey-Angle. BASED ON WHAT!?!? I'm so sick of this. If you have an opinion on something, fine, but if you're just going to sit there handing out fruitless guarentees that have no reasoning beyond them, then what reason does ANYONE have to take you seriously? People here give you their opinions, explain to you why they're right, and you seem to think this warants more guarantee's that Taker/Test will good. Anyone can make a prediction, it's the WHY part that's important, which makes this post all the more meaningless because you don't know how to answer that question to save your life. I'm all for objective opinions on wrestling (most of the time) but this topic has been around for THREE FUCKING DAYS and not once have you made a single valid point as to why you're prediction is right, so either make a point or let the thread die already. Guest TestKick Report post Posted August 18, 2002 Based on my predictions about the match. I have no clue what's really gonna happen in the match, so I can't write a lengthy diatribe on the situation. I feel that Test works better with big men. He had good matches in his series with Kane last year, plus he's had good matches of late with the 10-man on Raw, and his match with Edge. I think Angle & Rey won't be great, because Rey is nothing but flip-flop to me, and I don't think Angle will work well with that considering he's not great with transitions. I also think the match won't get much time.

I hope you're not talking about the Kane vs Test match at No Mercy '01. ::Shudders thinking about that match:: It should be a good bathroom break for the fans, but that's all. Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted August 18, 2002 I sure wish *I* could see Test's true ability. I mean, my TV must be on the fritz or something cause all I see is a man who could have been let go instead of Ron Waterman or EZ Money> Not that i like Ronnie more, but he should have gotten a chance to go on TV.
