Guest BoboBrazil Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 This week's edition of Raw scored a 3.9 cable rating, with a 6.2 share. The show scored hours of 3.8 and 4.0. The number is up from last week's 3.7. 1wrestling.com
Rob E Dangerously Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 HHH takes credit for it. I'd bet.
Guest Chuck Woolery Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 He damn well should. He wasn't on it, of course the rating went up.
Guest TestKick Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 I think the HHH-HBK closing interview was the reason for the ratings increase this week. People were excited.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 That's pretty good being that it wasn't the day after a ppv and there wasn't anything huge lingering from last week.
Guest Shaved Bear Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 its probably the thought of HBK wrestling again
Rob E Dangerously Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 TK: yeah.. it went up sooooooo much due to HBK
Guest Madmartigan21 Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 It HAS to be the fact that the ROCK was in three segments, including the main event.
Guest I Fear Hogans Air Guitair Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 The rating went up because of The RVD/Bischoff,hardys segment. MATT WITH TWO T'S + RATINGS.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 I think the HHH-HBK closing interview was the reason for the ratings increase this week. People were excited. They're lucky they didn't *lose* viewers after that. There's probably quite a few people who haven't woken up yet after that
Guest chirs3 Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 Nice to see they haven't gone down more. That was a hell of a show they put on Monday night.
Guest Will Scarlet Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 I think it was Test because, as we know, Test=ratings.
Guest Flyboy Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 I think it was Test because, as we know, Test=ratings. *whispers* Don't let Anglesault hear you say that.
Guest Austin3164life Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 I think it was the fact that we had three solid matches, being Boooker T/Storm, Hardy/RVD, and the Main Event. The first two were pretty good while the Main Event was very entertaining. Not a bad show this past Monday.
Guest chirs3 Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 I think Dreamer/Richards deserves a spot in the "good matches" category. Yea, it was short, but it was still a fun little match.
Guest razazteca Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 its because Booker T wrestled 2 times 2 times 2nd hour had good wrestling matches overall
Guest TestKick Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 I know the smark online community thinks the HHH-HBK stuff sucks, but a lot of regular fans are into it. I have a few friends who are very excited about the feud. They know the match will probably suck, but they will mark their asses off just to see HBK's entrance 1 more time... and to see a match between guys who have never faced each other. It's a dream match for many people. It may be a few years too late, but people still really want to see it.
Rob E Dangerously Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 They know the match will probably suck, but they will mark their asses off just to see HBK's entrance 1 more time... and to see a match between guys who have never faced each other So.. who did HHH win his first Euro title from? didn't they also face off in November 96?
Guest Downhome Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 I know the smark online community thinks the HHH-HBK stuff sucks, but a lot of regular fans are into it. The ratings for the HHH/HBK segments sure haven't shown that at all. Some are wanting to see it, but it isn't anything that major, hell, I know plenty of casual fans who just don't give a damn about it.
Guest RenegadeX28 Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 I think the huge main event that Bischoff made brought in more viewers.
Guest HartFan86 Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 They know the match will probably suck, but they will mark their asses off just to see HBK's entrance 1 more time... and to see a match between guys who have never faced each other So.. who did HHH win his first Euro title from? didn't they also face off in November 96? You call the Euro title win a MATCH? And yes, they had a few matches on Superstars and Raw.
Guest TestKick Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 The Euro Title thing was not a match, and I can't recall any big matches they ever had. The ratings for the HHH/HBK segments sure haven't shown that at all. Some are wanting to see it, but it isn't anything that major, hell, I know plenty of casual fans who just don't give a damn about it. I agree with that. But, is there anything WWE could put out there that everyone wants to see, right now? Bringing in some viewers is better than none.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 Just call him Tommy "Ratings" Dreamer. (rolls eyes)
Guest Madmartigan21 Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 I think the huge main event that Bischoff made brought in more viewers. I said it before and I'll say it again. The ratings bump was because of THE ROCK. Last week he didn't appear on Raw at all. This week he was in the opening segment, cut a promo with Bischoff at the beginning of the second segment, AND he was in the main event. End of discussion.
Guest benoitrules2000 Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 DREAMER BABY!!! Seriously, the hardcore matches are a highlight now! I mark for richards also.
Guest papacita Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 They know the match will probably suck, but they will mark their asses off just to see HBK's entrance 1 more time... and to see a match between guys who have never faced each other So.. who did HHH win his first Euro title from? didn't they also face off in November 96? You call the Euro title win a MATCH? And yes, they had a few matches on Superstars and Raw. Well...at Pregame Pandemonium 96 here in Philly, HBK fought HHH in his "return match" from the Concussion Angle. He also fought him on a Raw in May 96...right before Beware of Dog 1. Both matches were great. As for this upcoming match, I'm kinda hyped for it just to see HBK back in the ring, but the build has been terrible.
Guest geniusMoment Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 How crazy would this board go if Shawn came out and wrestled like he did in 1996. I don't feel the match will be that bad because trips will now sell most of the offense being the heel and shawn can use effective psychology to make the brawl come together. I predict a *** match. You know HBK's going to try his hardest to not screw up his legacy

Guest Brian Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 The only thing is he probably won't. Shawn was a bump artisit. He told his stories through bumping rather than strong in-ring work.
