If NWA got Terry Bollea, and WWF got Ric Flair...

Who would have been "Hogan" for Vince had he not got Terry Bollea on board? Would Bob Backlund have remained champion, instead of droping it to a transistional champion just in the name of handing it to Bollea? Besides that, how would the 80's and early 90's ended up for them? What would've Vince done with Ric Flair if he had him in his company? Would he have became a legend, or would Vince do nothing with him.

On the other end, what if NWA got Bollea and Flair was never there? Would Bollea still became as huge as he did in WWF, or would we not have "Hulk Hogan" as we have him today?

Basicly, if their places were traded up, how would've things ended up?

Sincerely,

...Downhome...

I don't know if this would be that bad a thing, but maybe the whole system with many regions would still be going on here in the U.S. since I don't believe the WWF could have fully taken off like they did without Hogan at the helm.

Interesting question... okay I'm going to assume that the only roster changes are Hogan and Flair. And we'll just ignore business results since I don't care about them.

Hogan in the NWA

- The Four Horsemen never form, but Tully and Arn still become a steady tag team participating a little more often with The Rock'n'Rolls and Midnight Express than they did in reality because they were engaged in Horsemen feuds.

- Nikita Kollof and Lex Luger become the most consistant challengers to Hogan's title reign. Barry Windham ends up taking over the "traitor to Hulkamania" role

- Sting is stuck at US title level

Flair in the WWF

- Flair takes over the Iron Shiek role and takes out Bob Backlund's knees until Arnold throws in the towel

- Flair and Piper become co-top heels battling it out with Snuka and Orndorff

- Piper 'retires' at Wrestlemania II, Savage becomes the new number two heel... Ric and Randy feud with Steamboat and Tito Santana

- Andre goes over at the main event of Wrestlemania III making all good people smile

- Ric screws over Andre to get the belt back and send Andre off to retirement

- Randy turns face and goes over Ric at Mania IV

And there you have it...

if Flair was in WWF I think several wrestlers such as Jake Roberts, The Million Dollar Man, Steamboat, Piper would of gotten title shots

Where as Hogan in NWA would just sit on the title having the occational match against the Russians or fat monster like Big Bubba and Guardian Angel would never happen. Scott Steiner might of gone solo earlier to become a monster heel to challange Hogan.

if flair went to the wwf he would have been a jobber for years and years until he might have won the IC title around 92...

What if, what if. Remember the NWA consisted of territories when Hogan broke big. Crockett trying to go National didn't happen for a few more years. The AWA had a better chance at keeping Hogan then Hogan settling in a territory and waiting for his title match.

Well lets first put facts: Flair's career started in the early 70s.

Now what if: He wouldn't have really gotten off the ground without being under the wing of Johnny Valentine. He would have been a solid mid card wrestler who had a big what if. Maybe in the WWF he would have been a transitional champ from Mourlas to Bruno. WWF would still have gone as big. As said by Keith, JYD AND Snuka were just as over as Hogan. Plus this fed could easily picked up Piper and Steamboat from the NWA and make them major stars. Dynamite would have been a singles wrestler by early 1987. He would be IC champ. Savage would have been the first heel to be a major champion since The Superstar. It just wouldn't be Hogan and the Rock n Wrestling. It just would have been the Rock N Wrestling. That gimmick had so many fans come in. Flair might have went to the NWA by the early to late 80s. Still come massive over maybe, the Horsemen would come about. But then a three way power play would happen. But a Flair vs Hogan dream match would have Hogan cleanly job atleast once.

Fact number two: Hogan didn't become monster over until Vern Gagne gave him the Hulk Hogan gimmick after Rocky 3.

NWA would have picked Hogan up in 1985 after two shitty world title riegns in the AWA and Had him fued with Dusty Rhodes and job until Hogan won the title. Then he would play the power move and basiclly its the same as the 80s WWF with different people being his friends. Arn would have not made it to the NWA until much later, if at all maybe in the WWF. IV Horsemen would have never came around. But NWA would do just as well as it did. Died by 1989 due to Dusty and Hogan playing politics. Both feds might have gone National.
