Guest godthedog Posted August 15, 2002 Report Posted August 15, 2002 ok: i've got some footage i want to make into a short film, & i'm wondering what i should use for it. my choices are basically digital studio or pinnacle. for the film, i need to: edit video & audio separately, sync video with music, layer different sounds together, clean up the sound a bit (if it's possible), & do titles. i believe that's about it, i don't need special effects or fancy dissolves or shit like that. but it is EXTREMELY important that i be able to stagger the sounds, sync, etc. digital studio only runs me 30 bucks & comes with dvd authoring software. pinnacle's about 100 bucks, and i'd have to get the authoring software separately, BUT supposedly pinnacle's a great program. is anybody familiar with both of these, & if so, what do you recommend?
Guest Gendo Posted August 29, 2002 Report Posted August 29, 2002 I have pinnacle studio 7, and it will do everything you need and it has a pretty easy to use interface. I do however prefer Adobe Premiere over everything else (not for any real reason just my silly personal preference).
Guest godthedog Posted September 5, 2002 Report Posted September 5, 2002 thanks. but it's all for naught, as my drama dept is letting me use FINAL CUT PRO 3 (which, from what i've heard & learned about it, blows everything else out of the water) in their computer lab (but i'm psyched).
Guest justsoyouknow Posted September 6, 2002 Report Posted September 6, 2002 I used Final Cut exclusively in my Video Productions class last year...if you need any help, hit me up with a PM
