SmackDown! preview for August 15, 2002

Tune in to SmackDown! tonight at 8/7 p.m. CT on UPN! As announced during RAW, The Next Big Thing, Brock Lesnar, will face Rikishi as he gears up for his SummerSlam showdown with The Rock! The People's Champion will be at the KeyArena in Seatte, watching his future opponent's every move!

On last week's show, Kurt Angle suffered a surprising loss at the hands of Rey Mysterio. Losing to a smaller opponent has weighed heavily on the Olympic hero's mind. How will he attempt to repair the damage done to his pride? Tune in to SmackDown! to find out!

Stacy Keibler double-crossed Stephanie McMahon last week, giving Eric Bischoff a contract that allows Rob Van Dam to face Chris Benoit for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam. How will the SmackDown! General Manager react? Tune in tonight!

Also, Nidia takes on Torrie Wilson in a red-hot women's division match-up, and Eddie Guerrero teams with Chavo Guerrero against Edge and Rey Mysterio!

Torrie.Vs.Nidia

Brock-Lesnar.Vs.Rikishi

LOL, I was gunna make this thread and say "If anyone actually watches this show."

The Red Sox play all the time on UPN on Thursdays, so SD comes at like the weirdest times for me...11:30 PM. One time it ended around 1:45 AM.

I'm watching.

--Main event should be a good match

--Eddy/Chavo tag team

--Helms/Moore & Chuck/Billy continue their series

--Kurt Angle wrestles (albeit against Mizark)

Oh, you'll probably be surprised with the kind of match that Angle gets out of Mark Henry despite the incompetance of Henry and a little bit of something Angle does (unless they were editing it). And Brock vs. Rikishi was actually passable. Brock gets HEAT~!

I would watch Smackdown, but there is one problem. The channel that it "comes in" on looks all scrambled and has weird tracking problems. Every once in a while the picture stays still and you can see what is going on, but that only last about a minute before it gets all weird again. You can barely tell who is who and its not even worth trying to watch. It's been like this since the channel first came in.

Smackdown has Rock, Angle, Benoit, Eddy, and Rey.

So I'll be one of the three people who'll be watching.

I know I will probably be watching, but, because it comes on an hour earlier in Canada, I doubt I will be posting much in this thread.

:o Eddy and Chavo? Edge and Mysterio?

I'm so there......

I hope to high heaven that Brock can start getting some good heat from the crowd, albeit post-production influenced. They can't really fake it when thousands of people are sitting on their hands :D

The clique-fest SS match is not going to be anything special, so the main event has gotta make up for it. With such a great undercard shaping up, two dregs at the end would be a total buzzkill.

I'm also going to watch because I have nothing else to do at 7 o'clock in the evening. I ususally get excited and watch no matter how bad the show sounds, and now that I can successfully no-sell the spoilers, I watch with an open mind each time.

Guest Jobber of the Week

There is Benoit. There is Cruisers. This heavily outweighs the negative of Stephanie. SmackDown has been so much better in recent weeks it's actually possible just to ignore her presence completely.

I'll be watching, but I used to tape the AWF when it aired at 6am Sunday mornings, so my tastes aren't all that spectacular anyway

Smackdown is insanely funny actually for some reason. I mean, all the non wrestling segments are hillarious. Theres like 2 good matches too...

Glad to hear that Smackdown is suppose to be good. Thanks for telling us while keeping it non-spoiler.

Lesnar-Rikishi should be a great power match.

What the hell are you smoking?
