Guest Raven_Effect01 Report post Posted August 15, 2002 I was playing No Mercy today and I had already completed the Women's and Light-Heavyweight title paths, then started on the Hardcore Championship path with Raven(I did this because apparently, my N64 of 5 years not too long ago erased my Revenge data, then later on, my No Mercy data, even though both games weren't glitched) and saved at the third block of the first path to face Crash Holly for the Hardcore title. Well, I completed the Hardcore title path, then I went to go back in to complete another path of it, but I found that the save point was STILL at facing Crash for the Hardcore title, which is terrible because after 1 year of having this game and completing it(until the N64 erase screwed things up, of course), I never found any problems with saving on the game pak until NOW, and apparently it seems the glitch came up VERY unexpectedly. It's stupid that it even did it all because the last time I completed the Championship paths, I had no problems saving it, but suddenly, BAM, you can't save anymore, which is one of the two No Mercy glitches(the first was obviously the data-erasing glitch that hit many of the copies two years ago, which is not the one I have in my current copy), and now I'm pissed. Can someone tell me IF there's a way of being able to save on the game pak again, or will I have to go to some store and try to find an unglitched copy even though the game's old now? If so, can you tell me what to look for on the game box that tells me whether it's glitched or not? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted August 15, 2002 no clue, but my copy is glitched too. from what I hear, If you ran out at the moment it came out and bought it, you got a glitched copy. If you waited a while, you probably didn't unless the store wasn't moving them fast enough. But the one I've got is my 4th copy(the last three had the data-erasing glitch), which I got sometime in May of 2001 after I had No Mercy rented for a while from a video/game rental store, which didn't have a hint of either glitch because I was waiting for the right time to hopefully find an unglitched No Mercy copy so I could finally complete it, and I did, but a year later, my data erases(not during the game though) just like my data in Revenge did(though I've unlocked all hidden characters again), and just as I'm moving onto another path in Hardcore Championship mode, I find out that I can't save the data on my No Mercy game pak anymore. If you want to know for sure that you're getting an unglitched copy you have to send your messed up copy to THQ. I'm not sure if they're still doing that though.
