Guest DragonflyKid Report post Posted August 15, 2002 I am going to be getting a DVD player finally but I would like to convert all my Puroresu tapes to DVD for convenience and I'm afraid my tapes will fall apart eventually. Does anybody have any DVD burner recommendations? Are they expensive and are their results good? How many hours can a DVD store? BTW, I was thinking instead of buying just a DVD player I would get A PS2 to kill two birds with one stone. Are the PS2 DVD players of high quality and good alternatives for regular DVD players? Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted August 15, 2002 If you are gonna buy a burner, then don't bother with buying a DVD player. You are just wasting money.

Guest DrTom Report post Posted August 16, 2002 Blank DVD discs generally store 9.4 gigs of data. The problem is, they're about $15 each. There's also no standard format, so DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, and DVD+RW are all different, and which ones play in DVD players will vary by manufacturer. You're better off with a CD-burner, really. As for using consoles to play your DVD's, get the X-Box. I know you need the remote control kit, but the PS2 DVD player is incompatible with over 100 DVDs (depending on the BIOS version), while the X-Box DVD player only has compatibility issues with 2 discs.
