So I went to the mall today...

I went with the girlfriend Nicole, my best friend Chris, and my friend Crystal. Hanging out with them was just really fun. It was just a good way to get out of the house and have a fun day.

 

I recommend it. I think I'll start going to the mall more often.

I live by one of the biggest malls in america, Mall of America (its the biggest mall in america...last time I checked) 4 floors...3 floors of stores, and 1 with bars and planet hollywood, along with a movie theater and Camp Snoopy...rides...lol yeah.

Am I the only person who sees the mall as a place to just... BUY STUFF? Geez, some people I know try to get me to go with them to just walk around or something. However, if our local mall had Camp Snoopy, I'd be there every farging day. I just find the creature known as the Mallrat to be a very bored person.

You should be thankful that you don't have to constantly dodge 85 year olds in electric shopping carts that go about 20 mph any time you want to go to the mall. Everytime I go to the mall, there must be at least 50 old people on these carts riding around nearly running into and in some cases over people and stands and other things that are "in the way". I shutter to think how the hell they get to the mall in one piece as it is. I keep looking for one of em to flip their cart off the bridge that goes over a river that feeds into a fountain and drown, but thats probably too mean of me..

Malls are evil. They purposely trap people in them to wander past shops that aren't selling anything useful at extremely inflated prices. I haven't been in a mall in about 5 years, and I ain't never goin' back. I've got the goodwill and Target. Clothing problems solved baby.

Malls are decent. Only stores I ever visit at the Emerald Square Mall are Suncoast Video (has a bitching horror and wrestling section), RecordTown (although they're selection not only sucks, but is horribly overpriced), and occasionally Spencer's Gifts and Hot Topic (for band shirts ONLY). But why would I spend $20 on an Iron Maiden CD at RecordTown when I can spend $10 on one at Newbury Comics, and Newbury Comics is closer anyways?

All the stores tend to be the same over and over.

 

Only places that dont suck in the malls (atleast in theory) are Toy Stores and Arcades, which always end up sucking when you go to them because they are overpriced, under staffed, and theres always unsupervised kids around. And god knows the aracde ppl are ALWAYS assholes to the nth degree. Dude the machine ate my quarter, all I want is the free credit to pay cause I already paid. And $,75 just to play a game for 3 minutes, what a fucking jip.

 

Everything is usually overpriced at malls. 18.99 for a cd, fuck that. Saw this punk cd for 4.99, and on the back, on the fucking packaging, it says only 2.99...which means the store went out of its way to rip you off.

 

And for the record, FYE is a PIECE OF SHIT. OVER PRICED EVERY TIME. CD sale price 15.99...reglar 18.99...fuck that shit. Go to a fucking best buy and its 12.99 normally.

OK, the prices are always MSRP (read: TOO HIGH), but seriously Suncoast has an awesome selection for a "physical store". Plus, they have OOP Full Moon DVDs (and sometimes OOP Anchor Bay DVDs) in the under $10 and under $15 racks... you can't beat that!

 

Ummm, but other than that... the mall is OK, I guess. I recently went to the coolest mall I've ever seen, but I have to get the discipline to start my friggin' road trip column so I can tell you guys about it.

Dude! They took out the Suncoast in my mall (Briarwood mall, Ann Arbor, Michigan) a few years ago and replaced it with some dumbass clothes store called "Mr. Rags". I refuse to ever set foot in there out of protest.

 

Like they NEED more clothing stores in the mall. The WB Store, The Store of Natural Wonders, and Suncoast ALL got replaced for more trendy clothing stores within the last few years. WTF?
