Guest FeArHaVoC Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 What happen to John Cena? I see he is on "Velocity" but what happen to Smackdown? I haven't been on as much so did I miss something about him being "Depushed?" I know some of you don't like him and he isn't on top of my list or anything, but I would have liked a Brock/Cena match more then friggen Rikishi!
Rob E Dangerously Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 Cena hit the glass ceiling.. we'll be jobbing to D-Von and Albert to make up for all this

I know some of you don't like him and he isn't on top of my list or anything, but I would have liked a Brock/Cena match more then friggen Rikishi! They emphasized a lot of the SummerSlam matches on Smackdown, and since Cena doesn't have a PPV match, he wasn't on. I don't think it's as much a de-push as they didn't have anything for him to do on the show. Personally, he gives me a Randy Orton vibe, solid ring skills but still a little green and a lot boring. I hate Cole and his "rookie Cena" mantra... that's probably what's turning me off about him more than anything.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 I read somehwere he plays a pretty good "Heel."
Guest Just call me Dan Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 Maybe if he turned heel he'd get a new look to go along with it because my God nothing says rookie like babyblue shorts and a preppy haircut. Now if only he'd get Cena on the back of his tights....
Guest BigTim2002 Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 I was in Oak-Town when I saw him against Shelton Benjamin, back when he was still Prototype, and he was still a pretty damn good heel. The Protobomb is cool by the way. I'd imagine him being a good heel, but right now, as we speak, he's getting face paint and a sequinned jacket... Look out kids, for THE MAN...CALLLED...CENA!
Guest bob_barron Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 Cause I hate John Cena with a passion and can't stand to see him on TV so any show he isn't on is good tv
Guest Raven_Effect01 Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 How can you say that? Because if he did get a PPV match, it would probably see him going over another deserving wrestler(Benoit) on PPV knowing WWE's stupid ways.
Guest BigTim2002 Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 So him up against Benoit and getting DA RUB~! wouldn't be OK, then?
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 That's a pretty darn good reason... But 'The Future of Smackdown...The Future is now' guys in Edge, Rey and Cena are getting a big focus (which is rather refreshing, I must admit). I figure they would set up Eddie/Cena for SS just to learn Cena up. Eddie is a GOD at kicking the shit outta the young punks, and could really make Cena.
Guest BigTim2002 Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 Yeah, I'd let Eddy kick the crap outta him, and then CHEAT TO WIN~! and hit the Frog Splash to send the fans home knowing Cena did his best. Kinda like the Flair/Sting 45-minute draw.
Guest bob_barron Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 Looks like it's gonna be Eddy v. Edge. Cena v. Benoit- ewwwwwww no. Only if Benoit beats the holy hell out of him and then locks in the crossface. Cena should'nt be getting any rub- He should be feuding with Albert or something
Guest bob_barron Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 Yeaaaaaaaa except Cena is no Sting and 45 minutes of John Cena would make me cry
Guest bob_barron Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 Cause he sucks- He's bland in the ring, has stupid interviews and doesn't deserve to be getting a push.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 Fuck, I would rather have Eddie beat the shit outta Cena and make him his TAKA than see 'This is Edge' beat Latino Heat.
Guest BigTim2002 Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 Good Call. Why doesn't Edge just feud with someone else?
Guest RickyChosyu Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 Cause he sucks- He's bland in the ring, has stupid interviews and doesn't deserve to be getting a push. Cena has potential, and he's a much more welcome addition to my TV than Mark Henry, Rikishi, and Bautista. There are much worse additions to Smackdown than Cena, without a doubt. Cena is faily limited, but stick him in a tag match and he can hold his own. He's also a very good outlet for Angle who seems to enjoy working with him, because their matches always give off a "Flair/Luger" vibe to me that just spells fun. I'd be interested to see him work with Eddy and Benoit to see if he can re-capture that kind of fun formula with those two. He may not be the best there is now, but he's got potential and he can be fun to watch in the right setting.

I'll be enjoying a show and outcomes Cena and boom- show goes downhill for me. I've hated him ever since week 2 That and THE GAY SLAP OF DEATH.
Guest buffybeast Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 I agree with you Ricky. I think Cena has tons of potential and to me is entertaining on the mic.
Guest TheArchiteck Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 Cena's cool I think. Hey Buffy....aren't u from SC2?
Guest Will Scarlet Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 I think Cena is okay. Nothing terribly special or anything. He seems to be improving, and they seemed to have dropped the whole "ruthless aggression" thing. I found that whole buzzword/catchphrase/whatever to be the dumbest thing since Desire. Though, I will admit that I like the little Edge/Rey/Cena partnership.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 Cena may be bland. But, I'd rather see him wrestle before Albert, Henry & Rikishi. Hell, even Lesnar for that matter.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 I would venture to say that Cena vs Rock would suck a lot more than Brock/Rock we are getting. Brock is coming into his own, and I think many would agree the guy isn't so bad, even if the WWE's stupid logic is making him that way.
Guest gizmo Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 John Cena is better than a lot of people on tv now, but he is a very bland and plain character.
Guest cabbageboy Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 Oh god that was funny. I actually was thinking Cena could do a Xena type gimmick of the warrior prince. Heh.
Guest bob_barron Posted August 16, 2002 Report Posted August 16, 2002 I think Cena got depushed cause he caused Angle to bleed with THE GAY SLAP OF DEATH
