Guest raptor Report post Posted February 23, 2002 WWF: Road to Wrestlemania Part 1: Raw Opening Segment: Kurt Angle interview Kurt is already in the ring as we join JR and the King for Raw. His message is clear. After beating the hell out of Kane on Smackdown, Kurt is still looking for competition. He was screwed out of the Wrestlemania main event, but still wants to face a legitimate contender in Toronto. He challenges anyone who’s got the stones to face him right now. It doesn’t take long for Tajiri to answer... -Kurt Angle vs. Tajiri (w/ Torrie Wilson) The match is basically Angle working out his frustrations on Tajiri by tossing him around the ring. He drills Tajiri with a belly to back suplex and lowers the strap, signalling the Angle Slam. As he bends over, however, Tajiri sprays Red Mist in his face. Angle falls backwards into the ropes, and bounces of into a vicious kick from Tajiri. Standing Moonsalt follows, 1-2-3. Winner: Tajiri After the match, Tajiri and Torrie are celebrating when Angle attacks Tajiri. After two Angle Slams, he slaps on the AngleLock, holding on until the referees pry him away. Subsequently, Tajiri is led away on a stretcher, groping at his ankle the entire time. Backstage, Stephanie and Y2J are seen ploting with an unseen cohort(s). -Hardcore Title Match: Maven vs. Bossman A normal Maven match, as he gets some token Jobber offense until Bossman cuts him off with a nightstick. A major beatdown ensues. Bossman attempts to put him away with a Bossman Slam, but celebrates to long and is attacked by Al Snow. Soon, all the WWF midcarders are out and brawling with each other. In the confusion, Maven hits a chair-assisted dropkick on Bossman for the win. Winner and Still WWF Hardcore Champion: Maven Backstage, APA and Rob Van Dam are playing poker. They offer RVD a cigar, and he accepts, stating that he’d never meant an inhalent he didn’t like (in fewer words). Chuck, Billy, and Goldust enter. They tell them that they’d better be ready for their match tonight, since Billy, Chuck, and Goldust can’t wait to pound their asses. APA are obviousley disturbed, but the ever eloquent RVD sums up the situation: Whatever. Lance Storm makes his way to the ring. If he may be serious for a moment, he has had rotten luck with tag team partners in the WWF. He reminds us that on Smackdown!, Christian through a fit after losing to Edge, and quit the company. He says that he has to move on. To do that, he must deal with his past, starting with his first WWF tag partner, The Hurricane! Some very dorky music starts, and Lance Storm is face to face with mild-mannered reporter Gregory Helms. Helms states that he has not seen the Hurricane, but he gladly accepts Storms challenge. -Lance Storm vs. Gregory Helms Helms starts off fast, but Storm pokes him in the eyes to take control. Storm kicks him outside the ring, and Helms dissapears underneath the ring. As Storm looks around confused, The Hurricane emerges from beneath the ring! He grabs Storm from behind and delivers the Eye of the Hurricane! 1-2-3! Winner: The Hurricane -Chuck/Billy/Goldust vs. APA/Rob Van Dam Standard six-man tag stuff. The end comes when Goldust brings out an odd looking pair of brass knucks and nails RVD. Billy covers for the win. Winners: Chuck/Billy/Goldust After the match, the heels assault the faces. Midway through, Goldust removes his facepaint to reveal Willaim Regal! The real Goldust races from backstage and helps in the beating. APA ans RVD are left lying, as the heels laugh their way backstage. -Flair comes on the Titantron . He has a few announcements to make. First, after the debacle that was tonights Hardcore title match, Maven will defend his belt against all comers in a Hardcore Battle Royal at Wrestlemania. Second, due to their actions, Chuck and Billy’s title defense against the APA will be in a steel cage, and Goldust, Regal, RVD, and Edge will all face off in a four-way elimination match for the Intercontinental Title. Finally, the main event for this evening will be the Outsiders vs. Austin/HHH. The Outsiders (w/ Hulk Hogan) vs. HHH/Austin Chris Jericho joins the table for commentary as match begins. JR asks Y2J who he was talking to earlier, but the champ keeps cutting him off by saying What? A back and forth match, with HHH and Austin gaining the advantage at the end. HHH sets up Nash for a Pedigree, but he powers out. Hall takes a Stunner, but Nash breaks up the pin. Hogan distracts the ref as Y2J signals to the entrance. Out comes Stephanie with a man all in black, who enters the ring and dismantles HHH and Austin. He lays Hall on top off Austin, 1-2-3. Winners: The Outsiders Y2J leads a huge assault on HHH/Austin. After both men take all the finishing moves, the masked man steps forward. Very methodically, he turns Austin onto his stomach, and lays HHH on top of him, Belly to Back. He reaches down and lifts both men into a Steiner Recliner! It’s Scott Steiner! The nWo music flares up as the conspirators raise each other arms. Fade Out.
