Hogan/Andre may very well be the worst match I've ever seen, but there's no denying its part in bringing wrestling into the mainstream.

I prefer the Summerslam rematch to Michaels/Ramon WMX, but the original has had a TREMENDOUS effect on how matches are wrestled as well as how they are they are looked at. The whole "no holes barred" aspect present in today's style owes a great deal to this match. So many matches nowadays have 'hardcore' stipulations thrown into them as a way of further testing the endurance and dedication of the performers, and while Michaels/Ramon certainly didn't invent this, it would never have become so commonplace if not for that match.

EDIT: Michaels/Ramon not on the poll? And what did the invasion match do for wrestling, other than help show how the ultimate wrestling angle can be destroyed by careless booking? Well, I guess there's the answer.

The problem with this whole list and poll is that its just WWE matches from the last 15 years. And not even all the big ones. I think Mr. Rant said it best.

Apparently there was nothing influential in wrestling before 1987......
