Is Trish the most complete package?

Recommended Posts

And my own answer to Mr. Slim Citrus is only if we get a two out of three falls strip match between Trish and Stacy. Mmm, tasty.

Feh. I would just as soon Stacy Keibler be unemployed. If she must have a job in wrestling, let her give the boys lap dances in the back, or something; just keep her off my TV.

Now, a two out of three falls strip match between Trish and Dawn Marie, on the other hand... :D

At the moment, I'd say Trish. Of course, I'd agree with the person who says Molly's been unmotivated lately. It seems that way when she's heel for some odd reason. Still my fave, though.

Molly had to change her style to be a good heel. Heels have always been rule breakers and they always take the shortcuts. They hit and run with a cheap shot and then run for dear life. As a face, she could show off her wrestling skills.

I don't care, I like her as a face or a heel. I think she is the total package. Girl next door good looks, can actually wrestle, equally effective as face or heel and promos aren't bad.

Ric Flair, HHH 2000-2001, Benoit? Taking shortcuts doesn't mean you have to sacrifice workrate. I did notice the "hit and run" thing, but it pisses me off that she has to do it after freakin' Torrie does a bodyslam on her.

The male wrestlers that you mentioned are all experienced veterans. There are not as many good workers in the women's ranks, so if Molly is in the ring with a green opponent, she is not going to be able to do everything she wants to.

If she was motivated enough, I'm sure she could carry the green wrestlers to some extent. Of course, since a lot of them seem to have about 5 minutes of training, maybe that's unfair to say.

Although it'll be nice for Jazz to come back and just kill Jackie Gayda and Torrie.

Balderdash. Last year, Molly wrestled a match with Trish where she COMPLETELY carried her through the match, as in, she physically carried her, and did the entire thing herself. Of course, this was back when Trish was very unskilled, but it happened, and Molly could do it again if she wanted to. Actually, it would be the ideal character for her to play as she could be the only female to actually "wrestle" in the WWE and thus have an arrogant heel character to anger the fans. Instead, she has to drive home that she's a virgin, she's a prude, and she has a big ass. Way to garner heat, there.

Ricky, to be fair it is almost impossible to tell a wrestling story in two minutes, and still whip out never-before-seen spots. The women get two minutes to wrestle. A rest hold or a struggling out of a submission hold in a men's match can take almost as long.

I think Trish has the most inventive and original moves of any diva. Plus she just seems to put the most effort into her matches.

I hate to break it to you, but that's not really saying much....

As for Molly "not having enough time" they're given well over two minutes most of the time, even though five minutes isn't exactly ideal for telling a story either. The point is, Molly goes out there and chops, kicks, and chokes away for most of that two minutes, as if she's just trying to kill time (in a five minute match, no less) which is just lazy. Trish, as little as it seems to matter sometimes, does try, so you have to at least give her that.

the wwe womens division will only get over if jerry lawler , shuts the fuck up. you cant question the ability of girls like trish, jazz and molly in fact, they are better wrestlers than half of the mens division but they will never get over if jerry lawler carries on doing what he does

Also, one has to consider the restriction on movesets that is currently in place. You can't show up the big male HOSSES, you know, by going All- Japan Women's style. That is currently the WWE attitude. It could be a lot worse: they could make Molly and Jazz wrestle like Albert as opposed to them currently wrestling like Brock.

Trish looks good because Molly lets her look good. Besides, Trish trains with Molly on the road, Ricky. All this while Molly is restricted from using her encyclopedic knowledge she got from Dean Malenko.

I don't think the restriction are that high on the women but there's more of a 'fear of injury' lingering. I mean, Fit "mother fucking" Finlay books the division.

That could also be a factor as well, I agree. The women can't afford to have a star go out and perform like HHH or Nash because of accumulation of injuries.

I either want the women to be able to work as good as the men and don't say they do because they may know moves but it looks like getting hit with a wet noodle would hurt more than half of them or be just T&A. I don't want a woman to be pushed just because she is the best female worker, I only want her to get a big push if she is better than her male counter parts

Why should Molly be motivated? I can picture it now Molly busting out a powerbomb.

Ross: Mah Gawd King Molly just did a wicked powerbomb to Trish Stratus.

Lawler: OH NO! I hope she didn't hurt Trish's puppies. Maybe they should call that the cherry bomb for Molly huh huh.

Thus killing any momentum they can get by actually wrestling.

Wow, why do all the men harp on Lita so bad?

She's not -as- bad as you claim she is, she does better work on the mic than some of the other *spit* Divas do, and compared to the rest of the roster (save Molly if... she -weren't- a heel) she's the only possible role model the WWE has to try and attract the female demographic. Plus, she's damned sexy, my favorite female wrestler, and would willingly become her handmaiden for time's end if asked....

and I swear I'm not biased in my opinion.... *cough*

As for Trish, I do believe her work as a wrestler has greatly improved, but where the hell do you guys get off on her looks? I'm sorry, but I like the women I date to have their -eyes- on the same -horizontal plane-.

Do y'all think Shannen Doherty is hot too?

Annie, the reason why I don't really like Lita is that I find her very spotty. I don't really judge on her looks though, cause I like her uniqueness..

well, I do make the non-joke about being biased on my opinion...

and Trish is a better wrestler than Lita. Molly too when she's on her game. but I think Lita deserves to be somewhere up there. She's spotty but she could be better given time, she has the techniques to do a lot of stuff the cruisers do, plus the experience to do some hardcore when she's completely back and removed from all ring rust.

at least I think so.

At best, the women's div. right now is a work in progress. It could be much better, and admittedly it could be a lot worse. Remember when Alundra Blayze had that huge career long feud with.... Bull Nakano.

...for two months.

with no other challengers to the belt....?

ugh.

game, set, match Canadianchick.

BTW, where are you at? I'm in a suburb of Moncton in New Brunswick. It's always great seeing a fellow female wrestling fan, who happens to be Canadian. Cool!

If you like to write we could always use new female talent in the SWF. Considering I'm the last remaining active wrestler there now. :(

I'm over in B.C, and it si refreshing to see more than one girl on the board, eh?

Well, Bull Nakano was a better wrestler than any of the women in the WWE ever will be, so I don't think there's as much potential as there was then, simply because now the best possible match out of the women's division is Molly Vs. Jazz, which is hardly a dream match by any stretch.

As much as I hated Lita's work most of the time, Vince trully did have something special with here. I don't remember any other women I've seen attract women the way Lita did. Of course, then Chyna had to go and kill the whole thing with the "spanking" angle, but at least there was a chance for her to put over Lita and have a semi-legit and well-drawing champion.

And I'm aware Molly has no reason to be motivated. Fuck, if I was told I had to get over based on my virginity and having a big ass, I would be pissed too. However, she's still unmotivated, and that's a problem since she has the potential out of anyone there. Ah well.

B.C. yikes, 5 time zones away! And yes, it's -very- refreshing to see a not-completley male point of view here (not that the men are spouting crap either, except this odd fascination with Trish's breasts... eww.....)

Bull Nakano -is- a great wrestler, but my point was simply that there was no other feud to be had because there were no other female wrestlers save Luna Vachon and that had already been done to death.

It's a shame there couldn't be a Joshi-in-America renaisseance (sp?) with Megumi Kudo (drool....) heading up the new Women's div. She could bump like a demon, she's attractive, and... uh... well my Japanese is highly rusty and I haven't really seen Kudo's promos.... but hell, If Tajiri could be a great promo guy, I'm sure Kudo could!

Well, if you're looking to see who the participants were, the match was Bertha Faye, Aja Kong, Tomoko Watanabe, & Lioness Asuka vs. Alundra Blayze, Kyoko Inoue, Sakie Hasegawa, & Chaparita Asari

I'm hardly qualified to answer something like this, having seen so little Joshi, but I can tell you that Aja Kong is one of the best monster heels wrestling has ever seen, and must have been in her prime around the time that match happened. Watanabe is one of my favorites, and was a protige of Bull Nakano, actually. I haven't seen too much of the rest, but I know they were all very active in All Japan women (I'm talking about everyone but Faye and Blayze, obviously) at some point or another, and all of them still wrestler today (though not neccesarilly with AJW). Go to this website for info on all of them, and head to the puro board if you have any other questions about this stuff. There are some real Joshi enthusiasts there, for sure.

Keep in mind that I don't find Trish attractive, and find her breasts to be grossly disproportionate to the rest of her body. However, the marks drool over her, so I'll just assume she's the standard for the rest in regards to the topic.

Annie, keep in mind also that Tajiri, although billed from Japan, is a native born American who speaks perfect English. He just happens to play a Japanese stereotypical EEEEEEEEEVIL heel. Plus when he was getting over in ECW he was turned into a Muta clone. Kudo is native Japanese, so they'd probably stick her with Tajiri to translate, though when it came to promo time she'd probably mumble a sentence of broken English, then giggle.

Having not enough time is a good point, but Molly having to fill time to dare not show up the "hosses" is another good point. I don't think initially King's behavior would be a reason, since it is an angle and all and Molly knows that, of course. However, there seemed genuine frustration last Raw.

*cue jester's sig*

However, with the extensive roster of male talent, a women's division push is always half-hearted, and remember that only a couple of them are any good. Of course...WWE got two female Tough Enough winners, Linda Miles and Jackie Ga--....

Ugh.

Although, once again, a topic completely deviates from the original post. Still, everyone who'd rather have some decent women's matches over Rikishi, Albert, Mark Henry, and all the hosses please raise your hand.

*I raise hand, and waits for hopefully more, although TestKick won't.*

*Raises Hand*

To be quite honest, I was more into Jazz's run as women's champion then I was with half the main-event angles going into mania this year. She wasn't a very good wrestler, but she forced people to take her seriously, and that's why she worked as champion. Of course, that was all ended as quickly as it had began, but they had another opportunity to create a solid division there, if they wanted to take it.
