*When Roddy Piper would make an appearence like every 3 months and the crowd would pop like crazy. He would say the funniest things. I miss that dude.*

*That nWo attack you knew was gonna happen at the main event.*

*Goldberg just beating the hell out of Jerry Flynn or Meng while the announcers would sell them as viable threats.*

*Lex Luger turning on Sting every other month.*

*DDP having great matches with those taped ribs.*

Just some stuff I miss.....

I miss Nitro from its kickoff period up to 1997. After that....well, I still kind of miss it.

yeah, I miss Nitro.

Yes, I miss all of that about Nitro, and Nitro itself. Hell, I just miss WCW period. I also miss about Nitro...

1) Japanese wrestlers being presented as more than a joke, and actually being built up as true performers.

2) All of the Lucha Libre, period. From Rey Mysterio Jr. to El Dandy to Juvy to La Parka. I miss every bit of that.

3) The hot, hot, HOT, Cruiserweight division. Some of the greatest matches in US history came from that group.

...and a whole lot more. :D :D :D

Same here. I stopped watching the WWF completely around August 2000, and didn't start again until the week after WCW shut down. It was something that made me very sad... :(

Some things I miss that haven't been mentioned:

1) Tony Schiavone. Sure, he sucked, but that was part of his charm. He was terribly enthusiastic. At least he knew the difference between Benoit and Jericho, even if he didn't know any of their moves. He was like Cole with a better personality.

2) Really, really long Nitro matches. Once in a while, there would a great match that spanned two/three segments. The wrestling was really fine in WCW... They gave matches time. Remember draws for the WCW Television title? Ten minutes. I saw those a lot on WCW Saturday Night.

3) The strange angles they had going on near the end. The storylines with Disco, for instance. The Disco duck, working on/off with Kronik (who became APA-ish) ... Also, there was some episode of Thunder where the entire lockerroom was lined up, going in to ask the Cat to fire Disco. There was Positively Kanyon, attacking random people, then running over the camera and yelling, “BANG!” no matter how long it took to get there... The Harris Brothers did the APA thing do, only they worked for sandwiches. Then...

4) The Natural Born Thrillers. There are my all-time favourite wrestling faction, actually. All of them were pretty good wrestlers (especially for being so green), and their backstage skits really had me laughing.

5) Everybody had a gimmick. Even the guys on WorldWide had gimmicks. Even if it sucked. They all had personality.

Well, that's just what I miss, along with everything else mentioned. Sigh... I think I'll go watch some old tapes...

Wrestling just doesn't seem the same since Nitro went away. I'd still take WCW back even in it's bad days. When I finally got cable in '96 I loved being able to swith back and forth from Raw and Nitro depending on who had what I wanted to see more. At the height of the fued monday night wrestling felt special, I can see why the ratings are down.

Raw right now lacks the aura both shows had at their peaks, not only were they putting forth a good product but there was also a great atmosphere. That atmosphere was fading when WCW was going down hill but it was still there until WCW died. There is no such atmosphere now and probably will never be again. Vince can talk about the cyclical nature of the business but no matter how good the product gets wrestling has already hit it's peak and without the dynamics of the WCW/WWE fued it will never come close to that peak.

I also miss ECW, not the TNN version(I still enjoyed it though.) but the time around '96 that I watched on America1 when the USWA came on also. ECW back then had a great aura until they started doing PPV's and went downhill.

Meng got fucking robbed!!!!!

As for Nitro...while some of the early nWo stuff had my intrigued, I pretty much always hated it, and swore I'd never watch another Nitro again in mid-98, so no, I don't miss it at all.

But seriously, Meng got fucking robbed!

Neither Raw nor Nitro was ever a perfect show, but it seemed that whenever Raw sucked, I'd flip to Nitro and Nitro would entertain me very much, and vice versa. It was nice to see an alternative. Best Nitro Moment? Sting emerging from the rafters to beat up the nWo.

Yeah, I do. Even though sometimes it got a little weird or a little stupid, it was always there if WWF just sucked.

I do. Even through the bad times i always liked Nitro and WCW, and it was good to have an alternative if either Raw or Nitro sucked.

After the NWO was a little over a year old it started sucking...

Black and white...red and black

Konnan's music video every hour on the hour

Tony "Fat Pig of a Man" Schiavone

Stealing countless WWF gimmicks

They're obvious rip off music

Angles dropped with no rhyme or reason

a 3 hour show with no wrestling in hour 1...

Tell you the truth...I don't miss it

Anyone remember Los Fabulosos: El Dandy and Hecter Garza. Ms.Hancock dressed them up as gold Power Rangers. That lasted like 2 weeks.
