Guest The Notorious CRD Posted August 18, 2002 Report Posted August 18, 2002 So does anyone have any thoughts on who the mystery opponent could be? I think Brian Lawler is too obvious although that doesn't necessarily disqualify him. Could this be the blowoff match for Jarrett and Scott Hall? The issue between them never really was resolved so it would make a lot of sense. Hopefully NWA TNA delivers on this but most "surprises" usually end up falling flat, so we'll see.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted August 18, 2002 Report Posted August 18, 2002 The way it sounded, it would be someone new to the show. My money, sadly, goes on Brian Lee
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted August 18, 2002 Report Posted August 18, 2002 Is Corino back? If so it's him. If not, the it's Rick F'n Steiner
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted August 18, 2002 Report Posted August 18, 2002 I would Mark Out if it was Steve Corino. The Smart Money is on Scott Hall.
Guest J*ingus Posted August 18, 2002 Report Posted August 18, 2002 Brian Lee would be a good guess. Aside from that, I'd say it's someone who hasn't worked for TNA yet, or at least for a while.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted August 18, 2002 Report Posted August 18, 2002 I'm thinking that it's Hall. By the way, I have no clue what's happened in the NWA-TNA, but I'm just guessing Hall. I'm going to be shocked if it is Hall.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted August 18, 2002 Report Posted August 18, 2002 how long has it been since Mike Sanders was released?
Guest NazMistry Posted August 18, 2002 Report Posted August 18, 2002 Sanders has about 65 days on his contract thing left.
Guest the 1inch punch Posted August 18, 2002 Report Posted August 18, 2002 Personally, from my, never seen NWA perspective, it should be someone new, or Corino Saying that, no one had a clue it was Sabu the last time, so what do i know
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 I wish it is Corino... But since TNA knows that the internet fans aresuch a big part of their following, I'd think that they would advertise Corino vs. JJ (as it is the kind of match that internet smarks would be excited about) If it was anyone of a big name, it would be smarter to advertise his name. The only thing that would prevent that is if it was someone they had only had talks with, and not signed for an appearance, in which case they could just throw Malice or someone in there and no one would be the wiser. From the way Armstrong presented it on the show, I'd think it's a big man, and not someone small like Corino. My vote remains with Lee.
Guest JHawk Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 Brian Lee is probably a good guess since he's supposedly signed with the company anyway. But why the fuck would I pay 10 bucks to see Brian Lee?
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 The same reason the WWE thinks people will pay 35 dollars to see Bradshaw and Test. They don't know what fans want.
Guest J*ingus Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 What's wrong with Lee? Did you see his ECW feud with Tommy Dreamer? That big boy can go when he wants to.
Guest Zack Malibu Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 I like Brian Lee. He's not the next coming of Benoit or anything, but I found him to be a capable, entertaining brawler. I'm just wondering what Lawler is talking about when he was saying "you made him do it" or something to that effect this past week.
Guest gwf0704 Posted August 21, 2002 Report Posted August 21, 2002 Considering it was Bob Armstrong making the announcement it wouldn't surprise me if it was his son, The Road Dogg!!!! Just a guess.....
