Movies that started good but took

I loved the first 30 minutes or so minutes of "Snake Eyes" then...crap!

Good call. This movie had potential, but for some insanely stupid reason they revealed the killer about 2/3 of the way through the movie. You see, they needed to reveal the killer earlier to give more time to show how Nicolas Cage escapes. We all know they need half an hour for the escape scene I hate Hollywood sometimes. Yeah, the real payoff is to see how the hero escapes...nobody cares about the revelation of the killer. I mean, murder mysteries and whodunits aren't very popular, are they?

From Dusk Til Dawn -- As soon as that first girl turned into a vampire (the stripper), things got crappy.

"That first girl" was Salma Hayek, FYI.

I loved the first hour, so much so that I was kicking myself for missing it in the theatre (I didn't catch it until it came out on DVD). But once it turned away from the father/son story and delved into a murder mystery, my interest waned, but it wasn't that bad for what it was--I just wished it wasn't in this movie. As for the final 15 minutes? I hated it. I hated hated hated hated it. I wanted to pick up my DVD player and throw it out the window. To compound the horror that was the cheesy, overblown climax, an absolutely dreadful Garth Brooks song starts playing in the last scene. Shit.

The lame thing about the ending of Jeepers Creepers is that the next day after the Creeper flies off with the brother, nothing is happening. The sister is just sitting, waiting for her parents and the cops are walking around doing business as usual.

 

Hello? Wouldn't every cop in the state be looking for the Creeper and the brother? Wouldn't they be investigating the pipe and the church? That was some lazy screenwriting.

 

As for House on Haunted Hill, I didn't have much of a problem with the ending except for the Chris Kattan rescue scene. It was still 1000 times better than the remake of The Haunting.

I LOVED that movie, from start to finish. As someone who hasn't really known his father too well, the beginning of the movie really got to me. The murder mystery was done well, IMO. Oh...and the ending got to me. I watered up like a 10 year old girl.
