My prediction:

 

Vargas is gonna go absolute ape shit, but I think Oscar maybe can keep Vargas under control.

 

I'm still undecided. But I do want Vargas to win.

I despie De La Hoya, and have no problem with Vargas.

 

Vargas seems to want this win more than anything in the world.

Vargas is too young and too strong for De La Hoya. Is Oscar's hand at 100%? I know he'd been having problems with it.

 

I'm going with Vargas to win by TKO in the later rounds.

De La Hoya in 9 rounds as a battered Vargas keeps getting knocked down and the ref stops the fight. You gotta remember that even if De La Hoya is disliked by the fight fans, the man has sick skills. Vargas is good, but Trinidad beat him and Vargas has a habit of getting knocked down too much. De La Hoya was actually beating Trinidad until his idiotic corner told him to run in the later rounds......

I think Vargas still has untapped skills to go along with his strength and his heart. It will be interesting to see how he comes out of the corner in round 1.........If he tries to pull the "I am an angry guy who wants to run over and pound you" gimmick, then De La Hoya will just do what Trinidad did early on and jab him to death and frustrate him. Vargas needs to get a better head on his shoulders. If he can learn to box better rather than just try to go with anger as his weapon, then he will be the best within a year no doubt. De La Hoya has too many skills to get scared of a kid with a chip on his shoulder. This will be a good fight no doubt. I think Vargas is the knock out or get knocked type of fighter, because he refuses to be patient and just wants it to be 10 rounds of pure action. I think on this night it will do him good and he will win in 8 rounds and if De La Hoya holds true to his statements early in his comeback, he will retire.....
