Guest Galactic Gigolo Report post Posted February 4, 2002 Does anyone know how/if you can convert a DVD onto a video. I believe it's possible to hook up a DVD Player to a VCR, but I'm not sure. Your best bet is to shill out a little money and get a Dual Deck VCR/DVD Player. I have one and it kicks BUTT.
Guest teke184 Report post Posted February 4, 2002 Your best bet is to have separate DVD player and VCR hooked together through a Sima Copymaster. The reason you shouldn't get a combination VHS-DVD player is that there is no crack for the Macrovision protection if you have one. The Sima Copymaster is a tool for home video editing that is available through mailorder and at your local Circuit City. Try looking in the camcorder area of the store and you should be able to find it. Another tactic is to get certain Apex DVD players which allow you to disable any Macrovision protection, but most Apex players, especially the early models with this unlabeled feature, are notorious for their high defect rate and their inability to work with DVDs that have branching video (Branching Video is the feature allowing for multiple versions of a film on one DVD. Some DVDs using this feature are T2: Ultimate Edition, The Abyss, and Stargate: SE). NOTE- All of the above is for pure PERSONAL use, nudge nudge wink wink knowwhatImean knowwhatImean say no more.
