EWR: The Tiger Pro Wrestling Story.

Recommended Posts

Guest I Like WDI

One day I woke up, wondering if I could compete with PWI, XWF, MLW and WWA. OK, that's a lie. But I decided to give it a go on EWR anyway. Y'know, whatever.

TIGER PRO WRESTLING.

That's the gheyest name in the world. But I couldn't think of anything better, so TPW it is. Here's TPW's stats:

Size: Cult. Just like those guys who drank the Cyanide Kool-Aid.

Money: $2,500,000, from my anonymous benefactor.

Image: 35%.

Commish: None. Nada. Zip. Zero. Zilch. No-one.

Production: 30%, ie. Filmed by some drunk students on minimum wage.

Risk: 69%. Heh. 69.

Merch/Advertising: Average.

Meetings: Wednesday.

Development -

Name: Cub Development. My mistake, THAT'S the gheyest name in the world.

Booker: None.

Training Camp -

Name: Tiger Training.

Camp Facilities: Average.

Head Trainer: None.

Oh, and Game Difficulty: Medium.

With my new promotion in place, it was time to let the games.....begin.

Sunday, September 1st.

Day Objectives:

- Sign 12 workers, including at least 1 main event face at least and 1 m/e heel.

- Sign required staff.

- Send out tapes for a TV deal.

First thing, I check the internet. Masato Tanaka is the best indy wrestler right now. I decide to make a bid for him to be my main heel. I send a $145,000 2 year written contract his way, but he refuses the 2 years and the written part. Ah well, it was a bit of a long shot. I sign him for a year long verbal contract. Oh yeah, mofos.

My main face? None other than Vader. I capture him with a $210,000 verbal year-long contract. He won't a long run by no means, but he'll be good for now.

On a whim, I sign Scorpio to be a m/e face, and TAKA Michinoku (!) to be a m/e heel. That's quite a strong main event scene.

After a while, I get my big starting 12:

Main Eventers.

Faces:

- Scorpio.

- Vader.

Heels:

- Masato Tanaka.

- TAKA Michinoku.

Upper Micarders.

Face:

- Chris Candido.

Heel:

- CW Anderson.

Midcarders.

Faces:

- The Headbangers (Headbanger Mosh, Headbanger Thrasher).

Heels:

- The SAT (Joel Maximo, Jose Maximo).

Lower Midcarders.

Face:

- Hack Meyers.

Heel:

- Doug Williams.

Check Finances, dum dee dum, HOLY CRAP!

Total Monthly Wages: $957,000.

Even I know that's a lot! Can I make that much a month? That's more than a third of my total money! It's going to be a challenging month...

Next objective, send out tapes. Well, that's easy enough.

Suddenly I am hit with the revalation that I need to add some belts. I add two, a main title and a tag title. I hate having loads of titles, it involves keeping track of who is the champ, and I haven't the brain for that.

SPONSORS! I can't believe I forgot them, what with my money troubles. I end up with this ragtag band of corporate endorsements:

Main: 411 Wrestling.com. (Pfft)

Minor 1: Kipp Gambling.

Minor 2: Kravitz Cutlery.

Minor 3: Lionel Hutz Services. (Simpsons referances 0wn j00)

Altogether, they're bringing in $2,063,000 a show. Wow, maybe my money troubles were premature...

Next, I must hire some staff. Quite a big score for me as my announcers are Scott Hudson and Bobby "The Brain" F'N HEENAN~! The only other staff member who'll sign with me is a trainer I made myself for another custom fed of mine. Dammit.

Hey, lookit! All my day objectives are complete. Time to move on...

Monday, September 2nd.

There's some news in my box. Well, 132 bits of news to be precise. Notable news:

- WWE Heat. Rating: 2.82. The most you can get on MTV is 2.84, so that's pretty damn good for them.

- Ring of Honor sign Jody Fleisch. GRRRRR! I wanted him, you pesky federation! I should have snapped him up on day one. I tried to actually, but he wanted to be a main eventer, and I already had my quota.

- WWE fire Michael Cole. *Applauds*

- MLW sign Michael Cole. *Laughs*

- WWE release ass-loads of staff. I need more staff, so that sets out one of my day objectives...

Day Objectives:

- Sign some more staff.

- Sign some more talent, including upper midcarders and lower midcarders/openers/jobbers.

- Set up a PPV.

To Other Staff; away!

Well, not so bad, but I expected more. All I got was a new referee, Mike Chioda. He's a talented ref though, so I'm happy.

Now to find some more workers. Off to an EXCELLENT start, as I fill out my Upper Midcard scene with one of my favourite British wrestlers, Alex Shane, as a heel, and American Dragon as a face! This makes up for the Jody Fleisch thing. As for openers, I sign Villano V as a heel and Axl Rotten as a face.

With a good set of workers in place it's time to set up a show. I set up a large event for the end of September named TPW Demolition.

That's the end of the day's objectives, so ever onward...

Tuesday, September 3rd.

There's some more news in my box. Notables:

- WWE Raw. Rating: 6.06. I won't even pretend to know whether that's good or bad. Sounds good.

- "WWE has fired Linda!" This made me larf.

Day Objectives:

- Set up feuds.

- Check public image.

- Check to see if there is any more staff available.

- Talk to staff.

But first of all, I check my finances. Oddly, my money has gone up by $180,000. "Why" I hear you cry? Ticket sales! A quick piece of calculation reveals that, with ticket prices of $30, 6000 tickets have been sold already! Yes, yes, yes! No better way to start the day, people!

Right, objectives. Set up feuds. After nearly 2 minutes of thought, I come up with:

Masato Tanaka vs. Vader. Starting Heat: 90.

Scorpio vs. TAKA Michinoku. Starting Heat: 77.

Alex Shane vs. American Dragon. Starting Heat: 48.

Axl Rotten vs. Doug Williams. Starting Heat: 40.

Villano V vs. Hack Meyers. Starting Heat: 27.

Chris Candido vs. CW Anderson. Starting Heat: 70.

Axl Rotten, may I add, is an un-cooperative buttwipe who refused to work with Villano V. What a bitch.

Right, objective 2, check public image. DOWN TO 30%? Why? I better recoup that with my event.

No staff to hire. Crap.

Talking to my current staff reveals the following information:

- "The average age of our active roster is 31 years old." That's nice.

- "Our information shows that the best TV rating we could hope for at the moment would be around a 2. 80. Wow, that more that I expected."

- "I would suggest a wage cap of around $70,000 for wrestlers, and $40,000 for staff." I would suggest you suck me.

- "Our current ticket price is $ 30. I think this is the ideal price for us." Coolness.

- "I think our current merchanding plan will not make as much money as it possibly could." Better up that.

- "We need to hire at least 16 more wrestlers, our small roster makes us look unprofessional." That's gonna become an objective for the next few days, if not more.

- "We should hire some (insert various staff positions here)." I'm working on it!

Well, that's today finished. The next day looms like...a...big looming thing.

Wednesday, September 4th.

News time, baybay. Notables:

- WWE fires Paul Heyman. Hmmm, maybe I could try to snap him up.

And so I do. Paul Heyman is now a member of my staff. That is what they call a "result". I put him in charge of CW Anderson, with an intention of making a stable with ol' Paul E at the head. Once agin, "result".

Time for my weekly Wednesday meeting. Nothing interesting there. Yup.

Day Objectives:

- Hire some more talent, especially midcarders.

- Take care of the money side of the company.

Objective two involves maising the level of merchandice, mainly, which I change to "good". I also raise my production level up to 50%. That's that taken care of.

Now to hire those "16 more wrestlers" I was advised to hire. Well, I signed Heyman, so it's 15 now. Today I hired:

- Reckless Youth (Midcard Face).

- Super Crazy (Upper Midcard Face).

- Trent Acid (Midcard Heel).

- Johnny Kashmere (Midcard Heel).

- Joey Abs (Lower Midcard Heel).

- Scotty Anton (Upper Midcard Heel).

-Jacqueline (Midcard Face).

That's not a bad lot, looking at it. That'll do for today, I'll see who's released tomorrow.

And that's today. Tomorrow begins...right now.

Thursday, September 5th.

News notables:

- WWE release Randy Orton and Crash Holly. Whom I wil sign...nnnnnow.

Day Objectives.

- Sign some more workers.

- Start some more feuds.

New signings:

- Crash Holly (Midcard Face).

- Sean O' Haire (Midcard Heel).

- Randy Orton (Upper Midcard Face).

- Jerry Flynn (Upper Midcard Heel, stolen from NEPW. Nyahahaha).

- Pete Gas (Manager).

- Mikey Whiplash (Cub Development, just to shut them up).

- Villano IV (Opener Heel).

- Brian Lee (Midcard Heel, tuning to face).

- Maxx Payne (Lower Midcard Face).

- Mike Rapada (Midcard Heel).

So there it is. 35 workers, all ready for the PPV. Time for feuds:

Reckless Youth vs. Mike Rapada. Starting Heat: 23.

Super Crazy/Crash Holly vs. Scotty Anton/Sean O' Haire. Starting Heat: 50.

That's the end of today.

Friday, September 6th.

News notables:

- WWE Smackdown. Rating: 5.27. This means nothing to me.

- Eric Bischoff has taken over PWI. Hmm...

- WWE release D'lo Brown, Mike Awesome. I'll have some o' dat.

Day Objectives:

- Sign a few more people.

- Organise Heyman's stable.

New signings:

- D'lo Brown (Upper Midcard Face).

-Mike Awesome (Upper Midcard Heel).

Awesome is definatly going in Heymans stable. After a deliberation whilst on the toilet I decide to call the stable "Destructive Force". The founding members are:

- Paul Heyman.

- Villano IV.

- Villano V.

- CW Anderson.

- Scotty Anton.

- Mike Awesome.

- TAKA Michinoku.

THAT'S A DESTRUCTIVE FORCE RIGHT THERE!!! Sorry, got carried away.

The average age of TPW is now 29. On that bombshell, we continue on...

Saturday, September 7th.

I switched the TPW file over to EWR version 1.2 using the EXCELLENT file converter facility. Also, since my roster, first show and feuds are in place, I’ll only report here when something interesting happens. No news today.

Monday, September 9th.

“Jose Maximo showed up very late to our last show!” My first incident report. I’m gonna ignore this, since I need him for the debut show.

Tuesday, September 10th.

Deleted the Rotten/Williams feud, changed it to:

D’lo Brown vs. Mike Awesome. Starting Heat: 64.

Wednesday, September 11th.

Quick calculation – Ticket sales are now at $360,000, and with $30 a piece tickets, that means 12000 tickets sold so far! Woohoo! Now I gotta book the show in advance, with that many people showing up…

Thursday, September 12th.

Day Objective:

- Book debut show in Notepad.

Here’s what I came up with:

Matches:

- Alex Shane vs. American Dragon: Ladder Match.

- Villanos vs. Hack Meyers and Maxx Payne vs. Joey Abs and Doug Williams.

- Super Crazy/Crash Holly vs. Scotty Anton and Sean O' Haire.

- Headbangers vs. Backseat Boyz (Kashmere and Acid) vs. SAT. Tag Title.

- D'lo Brown vs. Jerry Flynn.

- CW Anderson vs. Chris Candido.

- Vader/Scorpio vs. Tanaka/TAKA: A gimmick match of some kind. TPW Title.

Monday, September 16th.

“Jacqueline has sustained an injury!” Phew, lucky I decided not to put her in the Villanos vs. Hack Meyers and Maxx Payne vs. Joey Abs and Doug Williams match…The injury is a tricep tear, and she’ll be out for 4 months. Bugger.

Wednesday, September 25th.

Changed the risk level of TPW to 75%.

Sunday, September 29th.

Lightning kick by Dragon on Shane. Shane walks into a face crusher variation. Driven DDT by American Dragon. Headbanger Mosh pinned Kashmere. Joel, chanelling the power of Takada, hits a high kick on Headbanger Mosh. Slingshot clothesline by Joel, who almost messed it up by slipping on the ropes. RATING: 71%

OVERALL RATING: 61%

CHAMPIONS: Tag: Headbangers.

Monday, September 30th.

Day Objectives:

- Check on feuds.

- Check public image.

- Organise event 2.

Not a bad PPV, but not as good as expected. Heyman rules all, I think he is responsible for the two highest rating segments of the show, Heyman ripping on Candido and the CW/Candido match. So if you start an indy fed, try to snap him up a soon as possible if the WWE releases him.

News notables:

- “Alex Shane – I think you might be pushing me too far up the card, the fans seem to be resenting me.” Don’t complain! I’ll talk to Sophie on this one…

- TPW Demolition – attendance: 1847. (What the hell? Ah well, still have that lovely money.)

The table of attendance for this month’s PPVs puts me in this position against my rivals:

WWE

NWA:TNA

WWA

ROH

TPW

XWF

PWI

MLW

My public image went up 2% to 32% in total! Woo hoo!

Changed production values to 60% on Sophie’s advice.

Ass-loads of Staff have become available! I now have all I need!

American Dragon has an eye injury and will be out for 3 months! Rats. But wrestling-heat.com says it’s not a real injury, and he is being retooled into a gay aerobics teacher. It’s like they’re psychic!

Here’s how the feuds have changed following Demolition:

Masato Tanaka vs. Vader – 90. (=)

Scorpio vs. TAKA – 77. (=)

Alex Shane vs. A. Dragon – 57. (+9) Too bad I have to shut it down…

Villano V vs. Hack Meyers – 27. (=)

Chris Candido vs CW Anderson – 74. (+4)

Reckless Youth vs. Mike Rapada – 38. (+15) W00T! They didn’t even have a match!

Crazy/Holly vs. O’ Haire/Anton – 50. (=)

Mike Awesome vs. D’lo Brown – 64. (=)

Overall this PPV has turned out to be a moderate success in the feuds.

Shut down the Shane/Dragon feud (bad), but signed Tommy Dreamer(good)! Wouldn’t feud with Alex Shane (bad), so I shut down the Villano V/H. Meyers feud, signed the Brooklyn Brawler (err…good) and now have two new feuds:

Randy Orton vs. Tommy Dreamer. Starting Heat: 48.

Alex Shane vs Brooklyn Brawler: Starting Heat: 21.

The next event is a PPV (!) called “TPW Implosion”. With that sorted, we move on…

Tuesday, October 1st.

GAHHHHHHHHHHH! It turns out, when I transferred my game to EWR 1.2, my sponsers didn’t come with me! I’M $402090 IN THE HOLE! THEY’RE GONNA TAKE MY THUMBS! I HAD TO DROP THE RISK LEVEL TO 20% JUST TO GET A MEASLY $10000 SPONSER!

Can TPW survive this seemingly insurmountable predicament? Will the PPV help, or not even go ahead at all?! Find out in the next instalment of TPW!

I don't know. I think I'll try to get to the PPV, run it, and if that doesn't help, start a new game with a new fed and write a new diary.
