OK, well if you are so good with history, check the track records of those who just come on the board for no particular reason other than pissing people off and taking up space that may otherwise be reserved for someone who can contribute to the board in a manner of good conversation. What this thread turned into is what has always kept me from posting at WDI more than I did. I've always liked the core WDI folks, but it got frustrating to see good threads devolve into six people kicking each other in the junk, and things like that. Silliness is all well and good, but it annoys me to see it like that on a bulletin board. Chat rooms can be irritating enough without making me think I'm in one when I'm looking for decent discussion threads.

 

Hey, no offense taken. I understand completely, Doc. WDI isn't exactly made for everyone's taste. It's definitely developed to have it's own identity as far as a message board goes and the posters we've assembled are...interesting to say the least. Some are highly opinionated, some don't care as much but are still interested, and some jump into discussion threads rarely and just prefer to goof around. At any rate, the point I'm trying to get across here is that most people who post at WDI have the "in jokes/goof around" trait, so if you're not used to it or don't like it, WDI prolly isn't the discussion board for you. And that's not necessarily a bad thing. Different message boards usually end up filling their own niche when it comes to the internet.

 

Also, IMO, the threads that degenerate into junk kicking have usually run their full course anyway. Any jokin' around usually stops if another good post is added.

I'm inclined to agree with you, Tiger, as far as the Wrestling forum goes...those only go into junk kickings about 1/4 of the time. As for Random Topics...well, we all know how fucked up things in there can get. Of course, it was named Random Topics, so what else can you expect. Like I said, WDI fills its own little niche and it's not necessarally for everyone.
