Guest DJ Jeff Report post Posted August 19, 2002 Okay, this is something that happened to me tonight, but I'm unsure as to whether to treat this as suspicious or not. Anyways, I went to the bank to take out $40 for gas. When I got there, there was this guy standing outside the bank wanting to deposit a cheque for $188.88 from the Worker's Compensation Board. Since it was at night, everyone has to use their bank cards to get into the bank. So, he asked if I could use mine to let him in, so I said yes. Then, since he said his card didn't work. I was kinda suspicious then, but I didn't want to say no in case this guy threatened me to do so, and I didn't want that. Anyways, I put the money in my account, and gave him $200.00. I know, that was a bit over, but again, I didn't want to say anything just in case. After that, I went to take out $40, and the account balance was $36.17, so I could only take out $20. That has happened where I take out so much, and I can't take anymore out until the next day. So, should I suspect anything yet? If what I think happened did happen, what should I do? Yes, I would have been taken as a sucker, and that alone pisses me off.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted August 19, 2002 Report it to the bank. He'll probably try it again, if it does, they'll be prepared. Or tell the cops. Or dawn a cape and cowl and become a vigilante who has to clean the mean streets up as the police aren't cutting it.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted August 19, 2002 you just got scammed..... SUCKA!!!!! Seriously, learn to say no. I've learned that being Mr. Nice guy all the time leads to getting scammed and taken advantage of.

I've learned that being Mr. Nice guy all the time leads to getting scammed and taken advantage of. Has this happened to you before? Let's just say I have learned from this. Plus, I'm not gonna worry too much until tomorrow. If I can take out more money, then everything's cool. If not, then I'll be a bit pissed.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted August 19, 2002 Unless I know the person, I never do any favors for people, and even them Im still cautious it. I know it sounds mean and cruel, but after being "Mr. Nice guy, do anything for anyone, no questions asked" for so long, I finally got tired of being taken advantage of so easily. Guest DJ Jeff Report post Posted August 19, 2002 The only reason I did it was because he said I would get $38 out of the whole thing, since he only wanted $150. The cheque was for $188.88. Maybe I wasn't scammed. I'll just wait until tomorrow to find out for sure.
