Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 19, 2002 I was looking at the DVD for The Goonies at Amazon.com and it didn't really say anything about the sound. Anyone know if it's in 5.1 or has remastered sound?
Guest Mikey2Dope Report post Posted August 19, 2002 It's remastered in Dolby Digital 5.1. Pretty good DVD. Making of the Goonies featurette,Outtakes,Cyndi Lauper video(very very horrid song but the first 3 minutes of the video contains Rowdy Roddy Piper,Classy Freddy Blassie,Iron Shiek,Nikolai Volkoff and Fabulous Moohlah so that was cool) and a commentary that features all of the Goonies as adults. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 19, 2002 Yeah i was looking at the extras and it looked like a good DVD. But thanks for the info the 5.1 remastered makes this good DVD even better.
Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted August 20, 2002 Don't let a lack of a 5.1 track on older films keep you from buying a DVD. While a 5.1 track is always nice, sometimes they sound worse then the original surround or mono track. Try comparing the original audio track to the remastered 5.1 on the special edition DVD of The Terminator to hear what I mean.

Guest areacode212 Report post Posted August 20, 2002 That sounds like a pretty good DVD, especially since it has the "Goonies R Good Enough" video, which I had always wanted.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted August 20, 2002 There's a deleted scene featuring some octopus that was cut from the film but yet when the Gooneis were rescued one of them talked about it to a reporter/parent/?.
