Guest The Flying Dutchman Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 One of the (few) problems with bannings around here is that the banned person can simply get around it by posting as an "Unregistered User". If Invision Board has the option, I think the admins should turn off the ability to post unregistered.
Guest J*ingus Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 Do you mean how it lists the person's name in red, and says "unregistered user"? If so, no, that's just what their posts look like after they're banned. And if it's something else, I haven't noticed it being abused.
Guest TestKick Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 That just means they're banned. BTW Mods, Thank you for banning LexLugerRules.
Guest The Flying Dutchman Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 You guys obviously don't understand and I don't mean that as a "diss". An unregistered user is someone who is posting without having an actual unbanned account on Invisionboard. The red does not mean the person was banned...after all, the point of a banning is so the banned can no longer post on the board!
Guest Retro Rob Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 Dutchman, it only says "Unregistered User" on posts made before the banning. For example, if I was banned just now and you are just reading a post I wrote 5 minutes ago, it will say "Unregistered User" under my name. No new posts can be made by an Unregistered User. In order to post here, you must have an account.
Guest The Flying Dutchman Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 D'oh! I didn't realize that. Thanks for the info, RetroRob. You are all free to ignore me.
Guest TestKick Posted August 20, 2002 Report Posted August 20, 2002 D'oh! I guess I should have explained better. Oh well.
