FMW not dead after all

Recommended Posts

Guest MRFTW

From puroresupower.com

"Atsushi Onita announced that he would revive FMW and that he would do it starting on March 30th in Osaka. Onita and Kodo Fuyuki are going to be fighting each other as promoters on the independent circuit in Japan and Onita is very angry about Fuyuki claiming his new independent promotion being an extension of FMW."

Well, if anybody can breathe life back into the decaying corpse that once was FMW, it's probably Onita, he founded the damn thing after all.  The question now becomes, why would he want to?  With Hayabusa crippled and Masato Tanaka moved up to the big leagues, Fuyuki is the only wrestler they've got that's even close to a big name.  FMW is a far cry from what it once was (and what it once was wasn't the greatest either).

If anyone can save FMW its the father of modern hardcore Onita. FMW is all but dead some talent but no big names. Onita made it and its hard to watch anything you made or lead die.

If they devolpe new stars and get news guys theres on reason FMW can't get back to a pretty good level. But they need major rebuilding.

I have alot more faith in Onita to do this then Fuyuki.

I'm sure Kuroda will pop up in the new FMW and he's a guy they can build the company around. If Ganosuke joins them when he comes back from injury that'll be good too since he was one of the few draws the old FMW had left. And with a few more old FMW regulars like Kanemura, Ricky Fuji and Oya and some good indy talent the promotion could probably be built up into a pretty decent indy fed.

Sounds like a good plan, I'm not sure if Onita can concentrate on FMW full-time due to his political career but it'd be cool if he provides the funding and hands over the day to day running over to old booker Go Ito.

If they can keep the majority of the old roster and bring in Onita for the odd match then there's no reason why FMW can't be the top Indy promotion in Japan again.
