Guest Grenouille Posted August 20, 2002 Report Posted August 20, 2002 My favorite is NJ's Fantastic Story in Tokyo Dome from 1/4/93 with the 1/4/01 and 4/29/96 Battle Formation shows coming second and third. here are the results from prowrestlinghistory.com Takayuki Iizuka, Akira Nogami, & El Samurai beat Nobukazu Hirai, Masao Orihara, & Koki Kitihara (15:11) when Nogami pinned Orihara. Great Kabuki, Shiro Koshinaka, Masashi Aoyagi, & Akitoshi Saito beat Super Strong Machine, Hiro Saito, Tatsutoshi Goto, & Norio Honaga (14:20) when Kabuki pinned Honaga. Jushin Liger pinned Ultimo Dragon (20:09) to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title. Ron Simmons pinned Tony Halme (6:10). Sting pinned Hiro Hase (15:31). Masa Saito & Shinya Hashimoto beat Scott Norton & Dustin Rhodes (13:57) when Hashimoto pinned Rhodes. IWGP Champ Keiji Mutoh pinned Masa Chono (19:48) to win the NWA World Title. IWGP Tag Champs The Hellraisers DCO Rick & Scott Steiner (14:38). Tatsumi Fujinami beat Takashi Ishikawa (11:41) via submission. Genichiro Tenryu pinned Riki Choshu (18:14). What's your favorite?
Guest Black Tiger Posted August 20, 2002 Report Posted August 20, 2002 My favorite is 1/4/00 with 5/3/97 coming in behind it. I guess its no secret I haven't seen very many of them. I am currently in the process of trying to get some of the harder ones to find, namely 8/8/98, 1/4/92, 8/10/97, and 1/4/93. Grenouille, drop me a hint on finding the commerical release of that show
Guest Grenouille Posted August 20, 2002 Report Posted August 20, 2002 What makes things harder for me is that I insist on having COOPs, and not everyone has masters or offers the COOPs, but anyway the shows you asked about. 8/8/98-Found at Off The Top Rope a couple months ago. They don't sell it anymore, and I didn't order it because they have quite the rep for bad quality and slow shipping. I figure I'll just buy masters down the road. 1/4/92-Try Quebrada, he has the masters. 8/10/97-Quebrada and Triple Crown have masters of this one. 1/4/93-The guy that runs this site has masters of it Rob's Tapes Hope this helps.
Guest wolverine Posted August 20, 2002 Report Posted August 20, 2002 My favorite Dome show is AJW's Big Egg Universe from 11/20/94. Lots of really good matches, including the Aja Kong-Manami Toyota classic.

I've never actually watched any Japanese women, so would this be a good starting point?
Guest wolverine Posted August 20, 2002 Report Posted August 20, 2002 "I've heard lots of praise for this show. I've never actually watched any Japanese women, so would this be a good starting point?" Yes, absolutely. BTW, wasn't the Ito/Nakanishi vs. Toyota/Hotta match on the 5/2/02 DVD that you have?

Guest wolverine Posted August 20, 2002 Report Posted August 20, 2002 Then I'd suggest watching it. I'm confident that you'll be impressed by Momoe Nakanishi's work, plus you've got Toyota and Ito in there, who work well together. Hotta sucks though. I can't stand watching her.
